10/13 GDT: Canucks 0 at Red Wings 2

Vancouver doesn't look right at this point, but it's still something to shut them out. We gave up so many freaking goals last season with a good defense on paper.

I don't know what else is ailing the Canucks (if anything) but I would call this a bit of a schedule win. Vancouver definitely didn't have any mojo tonight. The Wings will no doubt face down something similar later in the year, of course, so no sympathy here.

Back to back SOs and, most importantly, 3-0, is a great place to be.

Cue up Van Halen's Top Jimmy from the 1984 album. Howie earned the shutout tonight. He really stood tall early, and on several key occasions later. Good showing despite the layover. PK looks good. PP needs to start clicking (one timer from the weak side.... anyone?) See you all next game.

Good win against one of the best teams in the league.

Losing a 40 goal scorer doesn't make many teams look great.

This is awesome. I'm thinking perfect season.

I'm thinking when the first loss comes, it's officially the end of the season. The bandwagon fleas begin to fall off.

We still gave up wayyy too many chances. The game could have easily been a lopsided win for the Nucks'. I know we shut them out, but a large part was due to JHowww and the Nucks' inability to finish, we need tot ighten up that D. All in all though, great win, and let's do it again tomorrow!!!!

1-0 when a player on our team fights. :hehe:

Gotta pay more attention to the home run pass. Way too many breakaway chances on Howard. He was brilliant, though.

Yes, because every team has two Art Ross winners in their lineup.

Haha, true story. I still remember when a friend of mine who is a Tampa Bay Lightning fan had season tickets during all those crappy years. Everyone who showed up to the games were real Tampa Bay fans. Then, the team got good and won the Cup. He said that the cup winning year was fun, but all the bandwagon fans jumped on. When they regressed, it went back to the way it was. Now with the team getting good again, the bandwagoners have returned.

Personally, I would rather have a good team and deal with the bandwagoners than have a crappy team and no bandwagon fans. Ask the Lions fans how they have felt the last 8 years.

Character assassination won't do you any good, sweetcheeks.

You don't have any character left to assassinate. So it was a fruitless effort. :D
