Say what you will about him, but the guy works hard and has been very effective at keeping the puck in the offensive zone. Franzen is horrible. He has no confidence what-so-ever... As I mentioned a couple of GDT's back, I remember an interview shortly after the Lokomotiv tragedy where he said something along the lines of not even wanting to think about hockey. I wonder if there was any of that mental/emotional stress still affecting him. Plus, disn't he say late in the preseason his wrist was still bothering him.
