Love it, better hands then Homer but will he be willing to take a beating like Homer is the question. If he's going to be the front of the net guy he has to be all in and not half ass.

He has no choice: A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse.

On the 2018-19 Blackhawks, Kane, Dcat, and Gustafsson alone combined for 72 pts on the same powerplay unit. I think we can recapture that.

PP1:

Dcat - Larkin - Tarasenko (LH shot)

Kane - Gustafsson

PP2:

Raymond - JTC - Rasmussen

Seider - Berggren

If you think that SOMEONE needs to be at the net front on the powerplay then your first unit is cooked. None of Kane, Larkin, Dcat, or Tarasenko are optimally used there. I'd replace Tarasenko with either Copp or Compher at the net front on the first unit and then have this for the 2nd unit:

Ras/Copp/Compher (net front)

Berggren-Tarasenko-Raymond

Seider

The 18/19 Hawks had Dylan Strome and Toews with them on the 1st unit, so my thought was they were probably running a formation without a net front presence.

I'm curious if Newsy will actually use Copp and Ras as pure shutdown forwards again, and keep them off the powerplay. Because we've lost a little bit of depth at scoring forward with Fabbri, Sprong, and Perron gone. 1 of Copp or Ras is going to have to get PP time.

I assumed wrong. They parked Dylan Strome in front of the net, with two shooters at the point, and 1 foward at each half board. And when they really bear down the two half board forwards move deep into each corner to pick up rebounds, and the two point men come up as far as the top of the circle to just rain point shots.

So now im thinking:

Ras

Kane - Larkin

Debrincat - Gustafsson

And:

JTC

Raymond - Berggren

Seider - Tarasenko

I don't really think those are too far off what we'll see. Except that I'm positive we're running a 1-3-1 powerplay considering it was a top ten powerplay last season. I don't really see us changing something that worked pretty well.

And I hope when the teams older, I don't sit around thinkin about it, but I probably will.

Just sit back, trying to recapture, a little of the, Dagger yeah.
