Winnipeg played one hell of a game.

This wasn't a case of a bad effort against a bad team, it was more like a kind of bad effort against a team playing like it was Game 7.

As long as we get back to winning in the next game I'm willing to let this one slide.

A loss is one thing. A loss to a struggling team is another. And playing like they did tonight is something else all together.

Terrible, terrible effort. Turnovers in the neutral zone without bodies back killed us. Seemed like every time they had the puck it was an odd-man rush.

Another game played without Nyquist. I wonder more if we'll ever see him again with every game he doesn't play up with this team this season.

I want to pin this loss on Nyquist not being with us. But, let's be honest: this loss was a true "team effort." I don't think we would've fared much better with Nyquist.

Y'know, I know how this is going to sound, but...maybe this whole trip - the wins, I mean - was just another "fool's gold" stretch. I say that because the Canucks played an uncharacteristically weak game and we won, barely. And the Flames probably should've won, but we won, barely. And the Oilers put in by far their weakest effort of this young season against us and we won. And the Jets came to play and embarrassed us.

What gets me about this loss is that everyone (except Babs, and Jimmy) can and probably will brush it off, given what an otherwise "great" road trip this was. "Everyone has an off-night. You can't win 'em all." blah blah blaha

agreed. this team still has no identity. the D is a mess, it looks like we want them all to be the same type of player and that just can't work, and the same can sometimes be said of the forwards. Holland wants a bunch of jack-of-all-trades, master of none type guys, or at least that's how they're playing on most nights; I don't know, I'm tired and we suck

OK, yeah, you can't be "up" all of the time, although considering the kind of money these guys make, they should be expected to. What gets me is that you'd think that this team would be smart enough to realize when their opponent is in dire straits, and will be coming out to prove a point. This happens regularly with Wings opponents, and it always seems to catch Detroit completely by surprise

I think some of you guys are over exaggerating BIGTIME. Yeah it was a bad loss but you knew Winnipeg was going to bring it tonight. They HAD to. They'll probably ******* lose 5 straight now. These losses are going to happen. We now have 8 out of the next 10 at home coming up. Big chance to get some big points, I say Wings win 7 out of the next 10. And God I hope we blow the Jets out at the Joe.

Alfredsson is good, but he has nothing to work with.

Should have stayed in Ottawa, instead of thinking he could win a Cup with this aging, slow roster.

I think it was thoroughly bad because we didn't adjust. If a team is going to play us like it's a Game 7, we need to push back and play the same way - or at least be more careful. We played the whole game the same way. Actually, I'd say we got worse as the game went on.

Three turnovers on every shift. An odd-man rush against on every other shift. 47 shots against.

Absolutely godawful. No excuse for that.

I thought the little time I watched him he looked pretty good with the puck, and those goals against while he was on the ice looked like Andersson not picking up his man in the slot, and then for his -2, AA battling against two in the slot by himself with Cleary skating in bent over past Ladd and doing nothing, and Ladd was able to put it in.

Hey man I don't know what to tell you. I don't play the game, I just watch. I saw them talking about the game on NHL network and had a bad feeling that this will be a loss for the Wings because the Jets were desperate. Wings are that team that brings out the best in other teams man. It's always been like that. The Jets got embarrassed at home by Chicago and that fired them up.

He's got nice control and passing ability when leading the puck up ice but just seemed lost and over-powered in his own end.

He should have been taught in peewee not to have two defencemen behind the net.

He didn't look significantly worse than any of our other defensemen, except maybe Kronwall. Actually, considering how hard the Jets came at us, and how horribly we played, I thought he handled himself well. So, he was about what I expected.

Just think, guys, it could be much worse. We could be Oilers fans, or Sabres fans. At least the Wings are still at the top of what may very well be the toughest division. That's pretty great, right?

Wings were tired at the end of a long 4 game trip, and the Jets were fired up. I think the refs helped by calling every little thing against the Wings, while letting the Jets get away with a LOT of holding especially against Pavs and Hank. Overall though, 6 out of 8 points is very good.

- Weiss has some fantastic plays tonight and it is VERY clear that Cleary is slowing him down. There is absolutely no place for Cleary on this team.

- Kindl or Quincy... I don't know who is worse. Kindl is awful defensively and is always giving the puck away. Quincy does not know how to defend a 1 on 1 play, he just lets the guy come as close as possible to the net to get a good shot off.

- Kronners and Danny D are a fantastic pairing... that goal by Danny D reminds me of Captain Nick... I don't get why Babs does not use him on the 2nd unit rather than Kindl... Danny D has a better shot, is far more accurate, and has a much better hockey sense.

- Howie was fantastic out there tonight.

Overall a solid road trip by the Wings, now coming home for a good stretch. I was going to get tickets to the Dallas game, but the Wings have a history of being sluggish in their first games back from a long trip so I will wait until Saturday haha. GO WINGS

After hearing this about the Tigers all season, now I have to endure once again the statement I have grown to hate. "If I told you before this road trip that we'd come back with 6 points you'd be happy" bulls&*t! Is there some league rule that says you have to go in the tank in every final game of a road trip.

And don't forget, kids, we now are facing that wonderful old "first home game after a long road trip" gem on Thursday.

Notes from the game:

- Getting to see DeKeyser score his 1st career NHL goal, pretty cool.

- Quincey is a complete liability and needs to go making way for Ouellet.

- The Jets played awesome. A complete TEAM effort that was needed and they showed what kind of hockey they are capable of playing, they just don't do it consistently.

- Cleary is beyond useless garbage. He better not be a Wing next season or I may lose hope in the future of this organization.

- The Wings got burnt on passes along the boards constantly and the Jets turned uncontested to the net giving them tons of quality scoring chances.

- Jimmy played great. It could have been 8 or 9 to 2 had he not played so good.

- Darren Helm needs more ice time and we need to keep Tootoo. Get Miller off that line, he's too slow.

- Almqvist was decent with the puck, making simple plays. Improvements need to be made on D zone coverage for him to play at the NHL level.

- Our 2nd line is ass. We will not make it out of the 1st round with Cleary in the top 6, maybe top 9….have I mentioned how brutal he is yet?

- Enstrom may have played Smegl in Lord of the Rings.

Weiss keeps looking for Cleary but he's too erratically retarded and Alfredsson is losing a step, especially at the end of a road trip.

Kindl played good. Quincey is a giveaway machine and has terrible defensive awareness.

DeKeyser was due for his 1st and glad he got it. So many posts and cross bars. Funny his 1st career goal would be so much like the ones that Lids got his whole career. That kid has a very bright future.

They play the Jets again in a week. Let's see what Wings team shows up and what Jets team does too. Both teams are very bi-polar.
