xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 Not to be critical of a team I hate, but how are the Pens better off with this deal? Hornqvist isn't as good as Neal and his cap hit is about the same.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 Pittsburgh just got a little worse, I think. Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 It was probably a combination of wanting to look like they were "shaking things up" for the fan base, as well as some blowback from Neal being the dirtiest player on earth and making the team look bad. They basically sacrificed 15 goals a season to keep up appearances. And honestly, they had 15 goals a year to give. Their offense will still be one of the best in the league with Hornqvist instead of Neal.

kipwinger 8,524 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 According to TSN hockey guru Darren Dreger, even if James Neal never takes a single shift for the Nashville Predators, he'll still be the third leading scorer in franchise history behind David Legwand and Steve Sullivan. rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 I can imagine that this trade probably bothers Neal, and that’s OK with me
WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 It seems odd to me that a guy who is theoretically just coming into the prime years of his career and has proven to be worthy of 30-goal potential, along with ideal size, has been traded twice already early in his career. You could chalk it up to simply a financial decision in both cases, especially in Dallas, but maybe there is something about this guy that just doesn't mesh well in a dressing room. Completely skeptical on my part.
frankgrimes 1,836 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 Neal is a headache and cancer for locker-rooms dirty players aren't often well liked. I mean Pittsburgh had that problem with Cooke and then Neal I think they were sick of that distraction. I'm very sure Neal isn't too happy about that

If they're going by career points previous to the Preds, wouldn't Forsberg be at the top of that list? 1 Ekmanc reacted to this

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted June 28, 2014 Peter Forsberg should be at the top of all lists! I was going to say "especially diving" but given what goes on in the game these days, Floppa's behavior doesn't seem all that bad.
