GoWings! 179 Report post Posted March 13, 2015 Agreed but usually everyone is struggling during a slump. Having one of the best power plays(maybe not recently) is at least a bright spot. I don't think Helm is top 10 in the NHL but, for what he brings to this specific team, he really is a factor. Love his energy. He isn't great but he is efficient and our penalty killing hasn't been very good with him out. wings87 1,290 Report post Posted March 13, 2015 This isn't just a D issue,an offense issue, or a goalie issue. The entire team has been playing extremely uninspired hockey. The passes have gotten too cute, we seem to be on the outside of the action just standing and watching. Not too Mention all the soft goals going in. If we had NY's defense we'd be the highest scoring team in the league.... Our defense is not just below par it's absolutely awful The dropoff after Kronwall (who by his standards doesn't have that good of a season) and DannyD is huge. I don't know what is wrong with Big E but maybe making him a healthy scratch and giving him some time off might help him. This team needs someone who can create energy if things aren't going their way, be it with a fight, a huge hit or just something to get them going to turn the momentum around.
