The good news is Seider and Johansson look like sure things.

Out of Viro/McIsaac/Wallinder at least 1 should make it and contribute at some point. Then another rando will probably emerge out of the later round guys.

If they both end up better than DK or E, I will be happy.

Edit: Viro and McIsaac

So Seider is in the SHL finals down 0-2 to Vaxjo (Still +9 with 4 pts in 10 games)

And Viro is in the Liiga finals.

Our two youngest mens league Dmen are helping take their teams to the finals. Pretty sweet.

As @marcaractac pointed out... It would almost be better to see them lose in the finals and see them come over to NA even hungrier for championships and redemption. Either way this is super promising. Yzerman/Verbeek/Draper drafting is paying off very quickly

One thing I will say. Yzerman has a type. And they're usually smart players.

Holland picked more dummies than the casting agent for The Bachelorette.

Holland always drafted projects. It was frustrating.

Or those inexplicable years when he'd take like 7 grinders/depth defensemen. Take a look at that 2017 draft class. Woof.

remember that draft when he only chose tall dudes? Ugh.

I realize we could be referencing the same draft here.

I will never give Holland credit for Zadina or Veleno's success. He took them because they fell to him.

Nah, give me Necas all day long over Vilardi.

f*** right, Necas. Forgot he was in that draft. Just makes Holland look even worse. Passed on two better centers because of size.

I even recall him saying they chose Ras because of his net front ability on the pp. You don't ******* waste a top 10 pick on a pp specialist.

Jesus. first you put Veleno above Rasmussen in the line -up, then you say this. It's like you're posting by proxy for your nfld buddy.

I think Veleno and Zadina is a good pairing. It's nothing to do with Ras vs Veleno.

When this team wins the cup in 8 years and big Ras is an unstoppable playoff force, you won't care where he was picked.

It's like making chowder. Sometimes you get a good deal on clams but you overpay for haddock. As long as the soup is delicious and you meet your general budget, who cares.

The guy I liked most in that draft class was Mittelstadt. IMO Buffalo rushed him into the NHL and messed up his development, but after they finally got their s*** together and put him back in the AHL for a while to fix his game he's started to come around. I'd love to see a "change of scenery" move, Mittelstadt for Cholowski.

Yeah they botched Mittlestadt hard. He has been much better this past month though.

I'm looking at Buffalo's stats right now and holy hell was Ralph Krueger a dumbf*ck. He started Jack Eichel and Taylor Hall in the offensive zone 60% of the time. Meanwhile he started Mittelstadt and Cozens in the offensive zone 45% of the time. So basically he sheltered his workhorses and threw his young, developing, skill players to the f*cking wolves.

Christ. And people wonder what is wrong in Buffalo.

Must have been nice for Eichel though. He basically had the easiest minutes of any 1C in the league other than McDavid. Though it's a little bit easier to let McDavid feast on juicy o-zone minutes when you've got a Draisaitl there to do all the heavy lifting.
