Yeah Debrincat sucks. 40 points in 46 games? Pff he should have at least 60 points by now. /s

Sure hes been cold but what goal scorer doesnt go on cold streaks? and yes he is a goal scorer.

If he didn't have that hot start you'd be singing a different tune, hopefully he can bounce back.

We are currently playing really really well and beating good teams. If we keep doing so I'll be thrilled, even if we do it with Debrincat and Kane contributing less than we'd otherwise have imagined. Right now the best wingers on the team are Raymond, Sprong, and Rasmussen. Honorable mention to Perron and Fischer.

I'd like to see us pursue a physical wingers with some scoring punch to play with Larkin and Raymond. Someone who plays stylistically like Jake Debrusk but would be available at the deadline (Ridley Greig or Shane Pinto from Ottawa?). Otherwise I think our forwards are looking really really strong.

And can we please extend Sprong and Fischer. These guys (plus Kostin) are forward versions of Jake Walman and are part of the solution around here. Give them a home.

When he has another hot stretch youll be singing a different tune.

Just a few weeks ago he was going through a stretch of 12 points in 8 games.

More so referring to his goal scoring totals not his assists. You're right I just hope that stretch lasts longer than 7 or 8 games if not then there's no reason to pay him as much as he's making. Raymond is already better than him and I'm sure he'll use cats contract as leverage to get more money. The point difference is only due to him playing pp1 for that hot stretch to open the season. Even though Ray was always the better option it's not like he has a blistering one timer or elite wristshot any right handed forward on the team can tap a puck into a gaping net. Raymond & Perron are all around better shooters than him. Larkin's wristshot is also better than the cats lol

This team was at its best when guys who could score 50 goals, weren't. Yzerman, Fedorov, Shanny, Dats, Zetterberg, Hossa...all of these guys scored less than they could have on other teams. I am more concerned with wins.

100 percent.

Saying over and over that Debrincat has a bad shot doesnt make it true. I wouldnt say his shot is elite but definitely well above average and closer to elite then bad.

I'm more so talking about his wrist shot, the chances he's had this year he should easily be sitting on 25 goals right now. He's still young so I do need to remember that.. I don't hate the guy I just expected an elite shooter and he isn't quite there yet. His positioning is his greatest strength imo. I could see him scoring fifty in the future if he improves his shot.

I never saw him as an elite scorer necessarily. I would have considered 40 a great year.

Am I misremembering I thought he already scored 40 twice? That's the only reason why I ***** about his shot I also feel like he gets to selfless sometimes. Any guy that can pot 40 before 27 has a great shot at scoring 50 imo. This is probably the worst wings team he'll play on so honestly his numbers should only improve from here.
