Some awesome news(sarcasm) for this stretch specifically for Saturday's game

       https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-buzz-news-and-notes-march-24

Caps win tomorrow they leapfrog into 3rd in metro if Flyers lose.

I am keeping the flame of playoff hopes alive but thinking tomorrow is more YUGE then Sat was.

They all count right now.  We are all FOOLS though.  If Chiarot and Petry are in the lineup against a good opponent, we lose.

guess they didn't want him to lose waiver exemptions. If he played one more game he couldn't go back down. I'm not sure he'll be around for next season. This could be it.

I'm indifferent on Berggren.

Caps, Canes, Cats, Bolts, Rags, and then Sabres...At our current state of affairs going 1-5 is likely...Looks like that new patch is quite fitting for the end of this season.

Potentially as this time I am hoping for some solid we give a crap no laying down no surrender fight to the end hockey

i dont understand he played great in GR got called up played what 1 game? SY or Fester issue with him?

He played 2. If he had played a 3rd, he would've lost his waiver exemptions. They then could not have sent him back down to play in the playoffs, he most definitely would've gotten claimed. He must not have impressed them enough to warrant staying in Detroit. I have a feeling he's traded at the draft or this summer, before he can file for arbitration.

He would be a good piece if we were trying to trade up in the draft.

After last nights OT loss - I would rather see this team fall apart and die rather than hold on thus giving us fans more false hope...By nature I'm a pessimist/realist - on paper we're barely good enough of a roster to sneak in to a wildcard spot - coaching staff on the other hand is AHL at best.

Were 2pts out of a wild card spot with 10 games remaining. A lot can happen in that time. We just have to pass one of WSH/PHI - more likely the latter. Its still within reach. Why not hope we can go on a run and get in rather then hope we fall flat on our face?

Its prob not likely we get in but as far as hoping goes Im gonna hope we go on another run - weve done it several times this season. If its lottery luck your hoping for were more likely to make the playoffs then any lotto balls falling our way.

I question decisions made by Yzerman/Lalonde but Im still gonna root for this team to win.

I'm not hoping for anything...We've achieved 'Minnesota Wild Mediocrity' where this team is mid pack - in the near future we'll have some seasons where we might make the playoffs - other seasons we won't.

It's been frustrating.

I'll be honest in saying that I hope the Wings get their a$$e$ handed to them on this road trip so we don't have any more false hope

Does this get us in?

Wouldn't it also have to take into account the other teams fighting for the spot?

Caps lost to Buffalo tonight

Isles winning currently in Chicago

My kingdom for those 2 extra wins in both Jan and  Dec....its amazing how 4 total wins over a season could mean so much at the end. I know in October Mickey saying you need to bank as many points early as possible...TRUTH

Do u think we get in with 8 more points out of 14 possible.  That's what I'm asking u.

Right now it looks like this and pulling the w/l totally out of my arse so fully debatable

         Philly - 76 GP 83 pts

Philly have Sabres - W, Blue Jackets - W Mont - W, Rags - L, Devils- W, Caps - L = 8 points - 91 total

          Wash - 74 GP 82 pts

Wash have Pens- W, Canes - L, Sens- W, Wings- L, Sabres - W , Bolts - L, Bruins- L = 6 points - 88 total

Wings - 75 GP 82 pts - Scott reasonable prediction of 90 points

          Isles    - 75 GP 81 pts

Isles have  Blue Jackets - W, Preds - L, Rags-L, Habs- W, Rags - L, Devil - W, Pens-L,  = 6 - 87 total

Then weird stuff happens like Caps getting stomped by Buffalo , Habs beating Panthers not to mention 3 point games

I think 8 could squeak us in and if we lose we have to lose in OT. Loser point is a wild card factor IMHO

Going to be fun and nerve racking the next 2 weeks

Scott want to meet me a LCA and we can Tonya Harding Ben/Petry then we will be in the playoffs for sure!!!

Good thing we traded Kostin

24 year old, former 1st round pick, Kostin now has 8 pts in 12 games for the Sharks.

Theyre not even giving him big ice time or any special teams time. Theyre simply giving him regular 3rd/4th line minutes, unlike Derek.

Leafs are probably going to push our s*** in tomorrow. But two games against Montreal should be winnable on paper. Those 2 are must wins. Last game of the year will be at MTL and they will be playing to eliminating us. Will be tough but there is hope. The next 3 games look rough for the Pens and Caps. We gotta get 2/3 pray they drop 2/3.

I think we gotta win all 3.  We need to win outright on pts.  Ties we lose.

We get Toronto - Habs x 2 so I would say if we lose to Leafs we need the loser point and being optimistic we get 4 from Habs so we land at 90 super optimistic with my red glasses is we land at 91

Philly's best is 89 and both my scenarios renders them moot.

Pens have Bruins @ Pitts, then Preds  @Pitts, then @ Isles they def could lose in reg in 2 of 3 of these games or if they go on a roll they bounce Isle out 3rd if they win 2 of 3...so red glasses time they get 2 points(Isles) to finish at 88 worst case 90 with us at 91.

Caps have Bolts @ Wash, then Bruins @ Wash then to Philly the next night so they could def lose 2 of 3 ...so red glasses time they get 2 points and finish at 87 worst case they win 2 and finish at 89

Isles have @Rags, @NJ, Then the aforementioned Pens @Isle two loser points they are tied with us at max value(91) but that only matters if they get jumped over by either Pens/Caps which in my scenario super optimistic scenario doesn't happen.

Issue is what is on the line for Rags/Bruins/Preds

I am going to say it was a better season in that we were in the chase till the end DESPITE some serious up and down moments and Petry Brain Farts.  We know beyond the shadow of a doubt Simon E is ready to play so going to be interesting to see what happens with contracts this summer.

I personally think we run Husso/Lyon next year and if either poops out we bring up Cossa can't hurt.
