We would own Montreal in a 7 game series with Howard in net.

From the Leafs board when talking about players causing the team to tank.

Franson is the best Tank Commander we've had on defence since Brett Lebda.

This team is so entertaining when they play hard.

Lol that's my favorite chant in hockey.

9, but I feel like I'm missing 1. My fav is Holland playing the guitar in the back.

Someone is the chick on the left. Is that abby or Emdog perhaps? Lol Riley in his Tinky costume made me lose it.

Find a way to win! I miss those beautiful trash goals we used to score all the time banging away in front of the net.

This is a game where we would normally lay an egg. Just had a huge win, afternoon game. Let's see if this team is serious about a playoff push.

#2491377 Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd

I didn't bother to read 34 pages of what I'm sure is bitching but I'm fine with this. With the injury bug biting us again, this could help stop the bleeding. Everyone wants Kenny to make a trade but they never want to give up any prospects. Jarnkrok could turn out to be nothing or a star. We don't know and neither do the Preds. That's how trades work. It's a gamble but as of today it helps the Wings and I would rather make the playoffs than miss them because we didn't make a move with our plethora of prospects.

Wow what a period so far. A lot of hockey to go though and I've seen enough of this team to know it's not over yet.

Wrong. You dont have to move if youve established that ice. Smith was moving to prevent a defender from coming out and challenging Kindl thus opening up a lane to goal. Smith knew what he was doing. He went out of his way to get in the way and set a pick. Textbook interference/tripping since Smith got him with his stick.

Smith didn't move his stick. The Washington player stepped on it which isn't a penalty by rule. It's not a penalty and was only called because they missed what could have been called on Ovechkin.

I'm glad you know what each payer is thinking while they play, that must be quite the gift.

By rules in that instance no contact is allowed. Smith has to know any contact in that situation will send him to the box. Refs will always put a team on the powerplay over letting a call go that directly leads to a game winning chance. Has always been that way. Why is anyone surprised by it? You couldn't be more wrong. You're entitled to your ice. You don't have to move for anyone.

#2477124 Turning point!?!?!

Posted by 8 Legged RedWing on 25 January 2014 - 04:42 PM

Wrong. A turning point IS one game. It is just the games following the Chicago win that determines if said game was a turning point or not. If the team does continue to win now, then we can look back and say that game VS Chicago was the turning point. Not an entire winning streak. Going on a good run would be part of the whole turn around, however.

Yes this is correct. A streak isn't a turning point. The streak defines the turning point. I haven't really read any of this thread but to be honest that fluke goal against LA would be my turning point so far this season. If they can keep this consistent play up and slowly creep up the standings, it has to be the turning point. Did I say turning point enough?

The team has quit. Literally no heart out there.
