#2349556 Gretzky <3's Zetterberg

Posted by kook_10 on 01 February 2013 - 11:25 AM

Maybe Gretzky respects Z a great deal cause he battles harder than most people in the NHL on a regular basis and has one of the best 2 way games in the history of the NHL, not unlike our boy Yzerman.

And to add to things, to hell with the regular season.  Since the lockout, NO ONE in the NHL has more playoff points than Z.

Boom goes the dynamite!

No one has more playoff points because everyone has zero.  ;)

Oh, you meant that other lockout.

BTW, I would cream myself if Franzen had an opening faceoff fight.

He would have to carefully pick his spot...maybe Alexander Semin?

If he continues to play well he should be locked in asap.

#2347130 Franzen should have been at Tae Bo class during the lockout

On a serious note, I've noticed for several seasons that opposition teams seem to target him for after-the-whistle rough stuff more than any other player of ours.  Clearly they feel like its a worthwhile tactic.

It clearly works.  He seems to be taken off his game with a couple face washes or chops of the stick.  If the idea is that he is going to camp out in front of the net, I actually think fighting wouldn't be a solution to the problem at all.  It would actually run contrary to that goal.  We don't need him sitting in the box with fighting majors or even matching minors.  For some reason he can't get it through his head to defend himself between the whistles and skate away after them  He needs some thicker skin and some pads like Homers' that accommodate for the extra attention that he draws.  He and Bert both won't get even as many as the few calls Homer drew in front of the net because of their relative size.  If he can't tough it out though (which it seems like he can't), it seems like his offensive resources are misallocated, his confidence suffers, and we will burn him out long before his contract is up.

Just remember "E" as in error.  E27 on the play.

Maybe he can teach the bottom six how to throw a few rights instead of eat them.

If you only had a nickname spelling controversy, you would still be a legend here on LGW, Tomas.  But you were oh so much more than that.  I thank you for the memories and wish you farewell.

#2330096 Datsyuk scores a goal off his head

Posted by kook_10 on 26 September 2012 - 11:08 AM

That was Grade A Datsyuk - well done Pasha!  The guys will surely give him a ribbing for that one.

Hopefully they can settle the union beef soon.  I miss Dats' butchering of the language.
