Report: Oilers hire McLellan

19 May 2015 - 05:35 PM

This is kind of ancient in today's terms of social media but no threads on this ... because we are all in a frenzy about Babwatch.

Anyhow, as you all know by now, Oilers announced hiring of McLellan.  Great choice, classy coach.  Oilers will be a force to be wreckoned with in 2-3 years.  Anyone know the dollars and terms?

P.S. Oilers didn't even request official permission to talk to Babcock.

WCQF: (5) Vancouver Canucks vs. (6) Calgary Flames

Strange, couldn't find a thread for this one.  So I started one in as similar format as I could.  Flames in 7.

Do Red Wings fans deserve better?

03 April 2015 - 12:28 AM

We definitely do.  This thread was started to say that we are coming close to the level of the Leafs if we end up being in 9th spot in the East, which is becoming a real possibility at this rate.  Except the Wings are even dumber becuz we didn't tank earlier to be in a better position to draft.

As someone alluded to, what a difference a year makes.  We were so proud of the team playing their hearts out and fighting every night last year to get into the playoffs.  This year ... I've never been more frustrated and disappointed with them, this team's effort is embarrassing and makes me want to throw up.

Sindey Crosby ... haha

Apparently, the Pens had to pull a program off the shelf because of typo ...  :cheesy:  :yowza:  :

Franzen on IR

08 January 2015 - 08:28 PM

Didn't see a post on this ... didn't know he was injured.  When?   That's one way to get him off the ice.  From Yahoo NHL:

DETROIT (AP) -- The Detroit Red Wings have put forward Johan Franzen on injured reserve because of an upper-body issue.
Detroit recalled forward Teemu Pulkkinen from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL on Thursday.
The 35-year-old Franzen has seven goals and 15 assists in 33 games this season. He did not play Wednesday night in Detroit's victory at Calgary.
The 23-year-old Pulkkinen leads the AHL with 20 goals in 33 games. His current eight-game goals streak for Grand Rapids tied the franchise record. He played three games for the Red Wings last season.
Detroit plays at Washington on Saturday night.
