    Crosby the greatest?

This is the first I've heard someone complaining about Crosby being over-hyped. This discussion should be fresh and enlightening.

Even though we are down 2-0, I don't feel like the Wings are out of the series. With the exception of some ridiculous officiating in the first 2 games, an untimely stick break, and some unlucky bounces, I believe the Wings have been the better team. Nabokov has looked average at best and Pavelski is the only Shark doing anything. Once we get back to the Joe, and the Wings win game 3, I think we'll start rolling from there. We've faced some serious adversity the first 2 games (Setoguchi diving, Refs being foolish) yet the Wings have nearly pulled off the win in each game. We're far from done here folks, it'll be a different story come Tuesday night. Go Wings!

We need to play better officiating or not. Howard can't give up 4 goals again and our faceoffs need to be better. Also, our PK has to be better. Also, Zetterberg has to start scoring in this series and so does Flip. One good series is not enough. It isn't over, but we have a lot to work on regardless of the officiating.

Howard is the reason that this game was not a blowout. Osgood, playing behind a totally stacked team as he was the last two seasons, never had to deal with the sort of barrages Howard has been weathering so far in these playoffs.

QFT!! even though there were some horrible calls, the wings were still 3-2 ahead in the 3rd period and were on the PP. the bert call was soft to negate it but the calls on kronwall, cleary, flip and the too many men were all legit. it was stupid and naive play by some very experienced players that cost the wings this game (and awful luck with the broken stick).

Sorry, I am just angry right now. I want the guys on the ice to show some damn emotion. Prove that they want to win. Show some fire. Some anger. Something.

(re-post) People here know I don't blame the reffing when we lose but this was ******* atrocious. I mean, beyond atrocious. The sad thing is, Bud Selig understands that umps need to held accountable when they make a habit of blowing calls and will suspend them. Will Gary Bettman punish refs who are consistently behind the 8-ball? f*** no, that would require actual effort!

Yeah, because in a 10 penalty game you can't ***** when two were BULLs*** goaltender interference calls where the goalie should've been called for diving and one involved a despicable dive by Pavalski. s***, did I miss anything? So at least 33% of the calls were an absolute joke. Ray Ferraro even called them as being phantom penalties. Apparently once there's a ligitimate penalty called against us the outrage of the fake ones suddenly lessens? Give me a ******* break. This game was bullf***ings***.

    Crosby the greatest?

Umm, have you SEEN Brett Lebda play? He makes everyone around him better. Never mind that the most direct benefit comes to his opponents. In all seriousness, sorry friend. Crosby is not as good as Ovechkin.

The series SHOULD be 1-1 right now, maybe even 2-0 Detroit, but the refs weren't having any of it. Granted, some of the calls were legit, still, 17 penalities in 2 games? Something is wrong there.

I was going to start a thread on this guys, but it's not that important. Enjoyed being on the board here for several years, and following hockey pretty closely during that time. But, tonight's game was just the last nail in the coffin for me. I've been trying to downplay the screwy non-sensical reffing for a long time, saying it's just the way the game goes and stuff happens, they try and make it fair, etc.,. But, after last year's finals (obstruction, anyone?) and the way tonight's game went, I can't really get too excited about the NHL anymore with so much crazy, maddening reffing inconsistency that goes on, far worse than any other sport I've ever watched. Not saying anyone is to blame or it's some kind of conspiracy, not at all, I guess it's just part of this sport and it's just finally turned me totally off now. I'm going to go spend my time (and entertainment dollars) to find something I can enjoy watching that's more consistent and won't raise my blood pressure to new levels in frustration. Probably motorcycle racing, I'm thinking. I know this post won't really register on anyone's radar here, since I don't post much, but all the best in your following of the Wings, hope they go the distance this year! Ya won't be seeing any more posts from me. Peace out, Quadnational.... Ha ha, just read some posts and see I'm joining Leftwinger out the door as well. Lead the way, mate.

How can you make this statement? I mean, seriously? The Wings scored on 2 of 3 powerplays and killed off eight of 10 power plays. They led 3-2 after 20 minutes, created some good chances, rolled over every line pretty effectively and were in position to win TWICE at the No. 1 seed despite getting ass-reamed by Bettman's cronies. Detroit is the better team. If the refs ever let them show that, they'll win this series.

The Wings played well. The series is really even play-wise. Howard has been great, Datsyuk is amazing but you can't do much playing half a game on the PK and having terrible, terrible luck. They do need to hold onto the puck more, though. They seem to lose it really easily.

...Seriously, just get out. Go to the SJ forum and stay there because we are no mood to deal with other team's fans tonight.

He might, but at the moment it actually looks like he's having a fine time playing lazily and below his potential.

Or he loves living his life in reasonable privacy while playing on a team with one of the best players in the league. Everybody is different.
