Whats the record in the NHL

It's more interesting here because Hossa is coming up on his 3rd appearence all with different teams. All I care about is that Hossa loses the Cup three years in a row. Edit: Just to be clear-- I want Hossa to lose this year because he's a Blackhawk, not because I hate him. I just can't stomach the idea of Chicago having any kind of hockey success.

    Good old Regular Season Joe

Just looking at the playoff scoring leaders on TSN and noticed Joe Thornton and his classic underachieving and thought I'd share a laugh with you guys. A certain stat jumped right out with it's double digits.// Regular Season first: (as this is where joe plays "hockey") 79 games 20 goals, 69 assists - 89 points +17 Now the Playoffs: 13 games 3 goals, 9 assists - 12 points -10 tied for 2nd worst in playoffs! and this is with 8 of those points coming in the last 6 games. joe thornton will never make it to the hall of fame, and this is why.

Miller spent a significant amount of time on the Wings' second and third lines this year. Also, next year Abby will be taking a permanent spot on the PK, so Miller's PK abilities will be replaced (who knows how well). I don't think it is realistic to assume that Miller and Eaves will be back next year, and (price constant) Eaves would be a better choice IMO. Afinogenov will not sign for 1.1M or less, no matter what. His contract was signed based on this decreasing production for the Sabers (.5 ppg), but he seems to have picked his play up again. Even for 2M, Maxim is a bargain. Asham signed his Philly contract after a down year with the Devils. He is a rare player than can score 20+ points in a season and get in 10+ fights. Therefore, we will command more than 700k. Although I would like them both, they will need much more money than you have budgeted here.

    GDT - Habs vs Philly

^^This. Holland is the best GM in the league, but signing Williams was a major blunder, and would have been so even if he had signed him for $1 last summer. By any objective measure, he should have played himself off the team permanently after his clueless, mistake-filled performance in the 2006 playoffs against Edmonton. Hell, Williams couldn't even nail down a roster spot in Atlanta. He had no business ever wearing the Winged Wheel again.

Whats the record in the NHL

Maybe Hossa will finally win one because he's committed to a team long term.

Thanks. Is anyone else getting sick of hearing Pronger's name? He's today's Sidney.

hahaha on shanny's twitter some tool says "you are a joke, stop talking about lost lets hear about the playoffs" and he responds "Hey @TKelly13 Nooo, that beard and those earrings are a joke. It's 0-0 in the 1st. Get over it." Wrecked.

Classic clip. Here's hoping Shanny is in full control of the NHL within 10 years.

and ONCE AGAIN(ugh) "carry their team on their back" does NOT MEAN DO IT ALL... Pavelski has been tearing it up for San Jose and Heatley and Boyle and PPG players... "carry a team on your back" means lift them, emotionally and physically with your play... it's not all about stats, and if he can't inspire them and score goals WHEN THEY MATTER, he is a choke... I don't even know how I have to keep explaining this to you, I really could not have made my point any clearer... UNTIL HE WINS THE BIG PRIZE, THE EARLY ROUNDS DO NOT MATTER

Best player UNTIL NOW - it's all moot and useless if you can't win the big prize... until he proves otherwise, he will be considered a choke... Really? Pavel and Zetterberg didn't carry their team to a Stanley Cup in 08?!? Zetterberg: GP: 22 G:13 A:14 P:27 +16 Datsyuk GP: 22 G:10 A:13 P:23 +13 Giguere didn't carry his team to a SCF against NJ when he won the Conn Smythe and they only lost because they couldn't score (keep in mind, this argument also doesn't REALLY apply to goalies, as they cannot score the goals, even though he backs up my argument) and Pronger never led his team to a cup... what was it Anaheim did in 07? 07 SC Playoffs: Pronger: GP: 19 G:3 A:12 P:15 +10 even ****** Crosby last year did it... you, if anything, helped prove my point... not yours....

    4th line options

I'd love to see any of those guys in a Wings uniform, but I doubt we'll wind up with any bonafide enforcer. A guy like Nystrom or Asham is probably what we'll wind up with. Then again, even that may not happen. Holland brought in Williams of all people last year, and didn't he say that he was looking for more grit at that time?

Maybe all our Swedes just didn't want a Finn in the lineup. Fillpulla has already become a Swede, so he doesn't count.

    LOL at the Sharks

I'd prefer Chicago to win as opposed as the Sharks as well.

Are you really that stupid? Didn't you even read past that first sentence? I clearly said that there is only offense and defense. Toughness can be a part of them both but in the end the result is only thing that matters. Toughness can help to get better results. Colby Armstong may be tougher than Jiri Hudler but Hudler is still better. I said that I don't care how the results come, but obviously you're one of these people who rather lose the game and see one fight than win the game without fighting. I'm sorry, but I don't award style points. I only care about the results, and the fact is that Hudler scored 57 points. That's what matters. And you think I don't know that when there are two "equally" skilled teams, the tougher one usually wins? Guess what. When there are two "equally" tough teams, THE SKILLED ONE usually wins. I don't care how it happens. Skilled team will also win whenever toughness doesn't work. European hockey? Europe includes many countries and you can't say that there's only "European hockey". Hockey in Finland vs. hockey in Czech Republic is totally different. And btw, there are more people in North America too. Guess what. There are more NHL players per capita from Finland than from North America. So learn to read the whole post before replying. Also, learn to think before posting. I know you like fighting and stuff, but it doesn't matter s*** if the result is worse.

Toughness doesn't matter. There is only offense and defense. Toughness can be part of both but it doesn't have to. It's like giving style points. I don't care if the goal is scored by dangling the defender or crashing the net.The fact is that this year we've lacked offense not defense. We were 7th in goals against but only 14th in goals scored. Hudler gives us more offense than guys like Armstrong or Clarkson. edit: Obviously there are these people that would rather have a fight and a loss than no fight and a win. Good one.

But he will be part of this team next year. I think everyone should wish good things for him just because when Hudler does well the team does well.

We weren't a nation at that time. There was already Finnish people who wanted to have their own country to represent them. That has nothing to do with sisu here. There were simply more Swedish people and even Sweden Finns who wanted to be more Swedes than Finns. And btw you lost that area to the Russians. So basically your point is that Italians are very tough guys because the Roman Empire was so large? edit: And I don't have a clue who that guy is. Probably another Swedish royal who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I know this guy though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4

I actually said Bertuzzi/Williams/Holmstrom will be gone and I think "/" means "or". Although I meant TWO of Bertuzzi/Williams/Holmstrom will be gone.

This game is pretty easy to sum up. Bryzgalov has beaten Howard. Of course you can argue that there weren't any easy goals, but Howard just needs to be better as this is the playoffs. He needs to make extra stops like Bryzgalov has. We've had much better chances, but their goalie has been better.

Our PP doesn't suck. In fact it's been very good. Bryzgalov has just been excellent. edit: Filppula just outpowered Korpikoski like he did to Ovechkin at the start of the season.
