I don't understand this post

Stop making excuses. It makes us Wings fans sound like some pathetic losers. Sharks beat us both times. Plain and simple. They won 4 games in both series and we didn't. We had our chances to win and didn't get it done. This whining about bounces and refs is getting old.

When one of your scorers takes you to arbitration, thus delaying you for a month, during which time all of the good free-agent forwards are signed, and then bolts for Russia, what do you do? You sign the guys who are still available. Williams was one of the few, and he had scored 20 goals in the prior season. Nice try.

Yeah, because Kenny is the worst GM in the world, right? Because he'd do something this stupid, right? No, wait. Why would this not surprise you? It'd be a terrible move. Kenny is not an imbecile and has no history of doing this sort of thing. I can only think that this is yet another insensible criticism of Holland.

If that were true, how did we win the Cup in '08 and come within one goal of winning it in '09? There is no substance to your argument. San Jose didn't beat us because they out hit us. If fact, we outhit them in several of the games.

Holland traded him in 2007 because he knew that Williams was a soft, lazy player. He freaking traded him for Kyle Calder for pete's sake. Re-signing him was as dumb a move as Holland has made.

Looks like their team is improving each and every year. I can track back to three years ago when their third line center was Wellwood and they just traded for Boyle. Pavelski was youngser back then. Next year Couture emerged and they signed Malhotra. Still no Cup. Now they have excellent three-centers punch in Thornton, Couture, Pavelski and they just signed big body Handzus. In addition to that they traded for Burns, signed him, and signed White as well. I see then way better than they were last year. Personally, I think there is no way for us to get past them in the play-offs with Helm and Abdelkader as 3rd and 4th line centers. So, the actual question. Does someone see them as champions next year? To be honest, I do. I wouldn't bet a dime if we meet them in the play-offs.

They're built to get lucky bounces and help from the refs against the Wings? Cool story, bud.
