I saw Yetis listed as a finalist for team name. And it does roll off the tongue well. But the Avs already use a Yeti footprint as their secondary logo and I believe their mascot is a Yeti as well. So I don't see that being approved by the league.
Also Blizzard and Ice are too close to Avalanche and we already have 2 other weather related team names.
Utah HC or Utah Hockey Club sound like Soccer team names. Boring.
Venom is too close to the Blue Jackets mascot Stinger.
Fury will most likely incorporate fire in the logo. Flames already did that. And it's one of those stupid intangible nicknames that were common in the 90s and 00s.
Outlaws would have been a great name for a Vegas team, but I don't think anyone equates the Mormon dominated Utah area as part of the Wild West.
I still think Mammoth is the best name. Unique. Tangible. And would make a great logo.

We still have Perron. There was that interview with Newsy awhile back, sometime around our first skid, where Newsy said Perron stood up in the room and said OKAY, WERE GETTING 18 OF OUR NEXT 20 PTS, and Newsy said he was all like "David, lets keep it realistic" but then they went out and did exactly as Perron had declared they would. Thats why I want to at least keep Perron another season. 

She's gone Atlanta. And just because the divorce isnt final yet, doesnt mean there's a chance shes coming back. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you can heal and look for someone who truly loves you. She was banging a whole team of guys from Chicago for years while you were too depressed to notice. I hope you’re right.  I hope he does also. Obviously.  I can see both sides of it, but I agree Cat is a bigger part of his life than we realize.   I was listening to the newest winged wheel podcast and they were saying the same thing, how it’s a thing to see Kane & DeBricats young children together and how POTENTIALLY, potentially this translates into this is Patrick Kanes home now and he will hopefully stay for many of these reasons.  
 
Again that’s all wishful thinking at the end of the day.  People keep saying how Kane may not stay because we still won’t be in a cup window.  But at 4 years I think we will certainly be trying.  We must make the playoffs next year.  We have to, look at what this team has done.  To start this season the entire world was betting against them.  Even at the end of last season Buffalo and Ottawa were the favourites to be the new comers knocking on the door.  Then after free agency in the summer The Yzerplan was lambasted by many for the first time.  This season starts and we’re the underdogs from the get go but came in hot, even became so exciting to watch they quickly were people’s favourite team to tune into because they kept having these crazy comebacks.   
 
Then we sign Kane and everyone was pretty reserved with how he’d play.  I thought he’d be hurt in no time, but the dude played.  He’s so dynamic and confident with the puck, one of those rare elite players that visibly commands respect when the pucks on his stick.  Even at 35 years old.  That moment of his in Chicago was so electric….This year going in this team I would think should be favourites to get in.   I can’t for the life of me see how losing Kane, Ghost & Sprong gets this done.  Put Berggren in because obviously Sprong is walking.  But my gosh the other two are hard to replace.  With either one do we have as much magic?  Because when this team came together and played as best as they could they were very much a magical hockey team to watch.

I think there's a real good chance that Kane stays.  I think he and Debrincat have a relationship that's a lot more meaningful than a lot of us realize.  I wouldn't be surprised to see Kane take a 4 year, 5 mil per deal to play out his last 4 years with his buddy.  Detroit is nicely situated between his hometowns of Chicago and Buffalo, and he is going to get the ice time he wants on our team due to our lack of talent up front.  If I'm Yzerman, I'm saying we want you, but we can't give you 2015 Kane type money.  If you can take 2024 Kane type money, you can have it for 4 years.  Of course, Kane and his agent are pros.  They're not going to turn down 10 mil per for 4 years if another club (Columbus) offers it.  That's why they've been hush and saying the typical things through the end of the season.

I think the quicker we get Mo and RayRay PAYDAY$ done it gives a clearer picture on what we have in the wallet. At year end they both said they want to be here so thats a positive. 
I am good with Ghost/Sprong walking. I am thinking Simon runs 2nd unit PP and Mo 1st. Goaltending is bit trickier perhaps Mr Y is hedging his bet to see how things go with a playoff run in GR? Lyon/Cossa and split them? Not sure what you do with Husso as you wouldn't go 3 deep with Cossa sitting in the 3rd spot as that wouldn't make sense and buying Husso out makes no sense. 
Going to be interesting to see how things play out.

I actually quite like Yzermans explanation as to why he doesn’t like to keep bringing up these kids and sending them down.  Stay there, play well & succeed.  
 
One’s gotta hope that at very least Holl & Petry hopefully get moved somehow?  Waived, traded, bought out.  I don’t know the repercussions of waiving or buying out but can’t be much worse than having them at our blue line.  Ghost I hope stays, he plays such a different role on D for us, but I know his asking will be high.  
 
One thing that very much made me nervous was Yzermans talk on goaltending.  Noted too much pucks went in our net but thought goaltending was good and full team defence was not.  Maybe I just took it that way?  But I was really hoping to pull a Hail Mary for Swayman or what might a trade for Markstrom look like?  
 
Even with Kane we would need another top 6 guy, which is never easy to get.  Without Kane the mountain becomes much steeper.   Burgers could replace Sprongs numbers but not Kanes.  It’ll be very interesting to see what Yzerman actually does here.

Also I wasn't pointing at you directly, I was just saying all the name calling back and forth was not necessary. 
Also, I always said "I think" and "I believe" or "IMO" I definitely never claimed to interpret his words as "a matter of fact." But he did say, exactly his choice will depend on where he fits on the team and who he plays with. He may have been referring to 32 teams, but I believe he was mostly talking about Detroit. 
You can still have Kane and get younger. You don't re-sign Sprong, Fischer, Reimer, and trade a D along with buying out Petry. If he replaces 2 of those players with Berggren and Johansson along with promoting Edvinsson full time, Detroit gets much younger.
I'm not getting into arguments or name calling, that hasn't been me for a very long time. I'm just going to say, I believe and I hope he comes back. 
But mostly I hope that, in whatever way, the team gets upgraded.

No. I said if he got the term and Yzerman gave him a better picture of what the top 6 may look like, that I believe that he may have no issue returning. 
So, if Yzerman gives him a good picture of what he is trying to do to improve the team and they can agree on term that works for player and team, I honestly do believe he'll be back. Maybe Yzerman doesn't get his star players involved that way though....don't know, but it's no reason to soil 2 pages of this thread with slurs and pointless banter. Debrincat said "he picked us for a reason" Kane said some factors are "where he fits on the team and who he may play with." It's in the videos. Interpret that in your own way.

I also don't think that's true.  He seemed very much interested in staying, he's a pro so he's not going to show his hand as it's business.  BUT he even commented on who he would play with next year would indeed be a big question mark-I think he'll come back.  DeBrincat said he also thinks he will be back as well so thats something
