This will insight a war of all wars but basically he brought something around a 2.875 million contract Hudler brought but ya know, more energy, FOW%, and actually hitting players. But again, let's keep shooting from the hip that Draper is "too old" and has to let it go.

Not sure what people are negging you for other than fight part you had to throw in. Clowe, although a prick on the Sharks, would be welcomed with open arms no doubt. Now this said, it's great to hear about him getting what he deserved after asking Kronner to come after him; poetic justice at its finest. Best part of the hit is the audio where the players yell for him to look up and it was waaayyyy too late

Am I the only one who doesn't care for Lacrosse style goals? I just don't see the point, if you want to play lacrosse play lacrosse. The puck is meant to be shot.
Oh well, if you like it that is great. I just never want to see the NHL turn into a bunch of people trying to look cool and score goals with tricks rather than skills.

Does such a thing even exist in Hudler world?

If Franzen kept scoring at the pace he did in the 5 goal Ottawa game, he was scoring at a 410 goal pace. Tough to ignore this, or you might be totally dumbfounded to wrap your head around that one.
    Now see how that sounds???

    Ok, let's look this over.
    1. If a player is really good at one thing, does that make him a superstar? No.
    2. There are only a handful of players who are as good or better playmakers than Hudler.
Perhaps Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Crosby, Thornton, D.Sedin, H.Sedin, Savard, Getzlaf, Toews, Kopitar, Koivu, Gomez, Spezza, Malkin, St.Louis, Backstrom. There might be one or two more I can't think of offhand, but that list should be pretty close. That's among forwards.
In other words; Hudler is not a superstar, he's just a very good playmaker. Just as Franzen is not a superstar, he is just a very good sniper.

a 6 team deal, which somehow lands Boyle in DET, Kovalchuk in LA, Doughty in FLA, Booth in SJ, Yandle in NJ and a bag of pucks, a bag of Sour Patch Kids and the rights to the use of Red Bird II next summer when they relocate, in PHX
    huh, huh?!? :yowza:

hey guys first of all id like to say plz shoot me dead cuz i live in vancouver and cant stand these bandwagon freaks.. now to my topic discussion... how many pple here think its a possibility that Rafalski pulls a scott neidermyer in dec and un-retires and comes back to play for a mil or under a mil ??? this is Detroit you just never know what there tryna pull this way gives raffy almost 8 months off! alot of time to heal that knee and back.. and come play for cheap and allows Detroit to pursue a good Dman right now.. just a thought? if he cud sacrifice 6 mil and put Detroit ahead of himself i could tottaly see him playin the last half of the season for a mil or under and then retiring... thoughts..??

Well gee wiz. Maybe it's because I am too busy being a fan and carrying on my day to day life instead of staring at Excel algorithms to see if things will work out correctly for the space time continuum to accept our INSANE ZANY ideas we have this off season. Seriously guys, let's pump the brakes on pointing the finger on getting hopeful at bringing in talented players, even if they are getting a bit out of hand.

Look man, I've got nothing against Draper, but to suggest he's valuable in the playoffs is a bit misleading. Did anyone actually notice him when he was out there? He wasn't a liability, I'll give him that, but his role could be replicated by anyone else.

Playoff hero? Holy hyperbole. He was far more effective in the playoffs than Hudler, Abdelkader, and Franzen. Mursak's wheels are only a slight upgrade over what Draper has. What's the problem with Draper playing 35 games and Mursak playing the rest? Draper is more adept at scoring in the NHL and his understanding of the NHL playing field is far superior to Mursak (who I think will be a solid 3rd/4th liner in a few years). Draper is the better player between the two, with Mursak only having the advantage in speed (slightly) and youth. Those two splitting time is not a negative, look at what Draper has done for Helm, why not have him do the same for Mursak?

I am all for the the Wiz signing. That is the actual only one mentioned so far I like until the capgeeks on here tell me otherwise with what's a great deal. I haven't really been too against the Pitkanen but to a point. If it's above 4 mill I would rather it's Wiz and then maybe fill in a bottom 6 forward of some kind. If they re-sign Eaves, Draper, and maybe Miller (doubtful) then that won't happen anyway, especially with Muskrat most likely having a set spot as a 13th for even 4th liner. The Jovo thing I'd rather avoid regardless of the vet presence, I want a banger, right handed shot, who can bring all the intensity in the defensive zone as well. I know that is a description of a pipe dream but that's most likely what we need to try for.

Clowe is far from a diver lol.
He is a player I would trade any forward on the wings for besides Datsyuk or Zetterberg and he would beat anyone on Detriot up in a fight.
Franzen+Kindl for Clowe sounds great to me
