Does anyone know anything about Brett Angel he is listed at 6'6 and 229 pounds he is a defenceman and has decent penalty minutes.

http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdispla....php3?pid=31795

I saw him fight a couple times when he played for Windsor -- he was pretty gangly back then -- he could be a good prospect. Stays at home, nasty temper but not stupid -- if he grows into his body look out.

Used to go to Spitfire games quite frequently when I lived Downriver - Angel is a big kid, great size, but decision-making ability in his own zone and mobility were two glaring weaknesses in the O.

Nice guy, and very very tough, but if he makes the Griff I don't see him as more than a 5th or 6th D-man.

Any info here would be great.

Charpentier has a big heart and has NHL heavyweight potential -- holds his own with most and will fight anyone. Skills are limited but he still has upside and is very well conditioned -- switches well and can take a punch and answer (nice attribute). I'd love to see him develop into a full time AHL player by seasons end.

Kostadine reminds me of Bootland with less talent and a better chin. Long shot if Holland has a say.

With Filpulla destined for a full season at GR there is one less slot for a tough guy up front too.

They should hang onto Big Snake too -- he could become a Kris King type player...

Kinda funny to see they invited so many guys...the Griffins are already beyond full..so it's likely all these invites will be fighting for 1 or 2 spots...unless Detroit decides to unload one or more of the following: Mcdonell, Maclean, Manlow, Helmer, Delmore, Rivers, Mowers, Hackert.

uh Cory Stillman? Really? The same Stillman who scored 80 points in 2004 for the Lighting? The same one who just signed with the Canes? And hes invited to GR's camp? Woooo Hooooo!!!! Man I had no idea the new NHL changes would also change the players way of thinking like this.

According to the message boards on redwingscentral, Ryan Barnes is in camp, and scored a goal in the scrimmage yesterday. He was a "last minute invite". Also, it appears Joey MacDonald will be out much longer than expected, and the Griffins are looking to sign another goalie so they aren't stuck with MacIntyre and Koopmans for a month or more..

Thanks for the updates! Sucks about MacDonald. Do you think Howard would be able to carry the majority of load?

The way he's been playing in Detroit, it looks like he could carry a decent load and play well. But, since Osgood is going to be out for probably another month..Howard will be in Detroit. Leaving MacIntyre and Koopmans as the 2 goalies in GR. I read in the Grand Rapids Press that Griffins management is looking to sign another goalie to an AHL contract so they're not stuck with MacIntyre as a starter.

fort worth CHL

interesting player...hmmm if only GR management would dump some of their over the hill vets.

who's over the hill?? Travis richards is the oldest player at 35...Helmer is 33, the other 25+ players are under 30
