Wow these last couple games have been horribly officiated for the Pistons. All Pistons starters and Flip have gotten a technical for some stupid ass reason. McDyess got on yesterday for not handing the ball over to the ref right away or some *** s**t like that and Sheed got one for laughing and smiling, no lie. It has been horrrrendous, if you've seen the games you know what I am talking about. Chauncey got smacked in the mouth driving to the lane, no call, it was clear as day.

Thing is, refs can try to beat us all they want but it won't happen, the Pistons keep on winning.

"We get three, four, five technicals, but all we do is win. And that's the ultimate spit in the face."

-- Detroit Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace

Word was they are taking back 3 or 4 of them, last I heard.

They took back one that Sheed got a little while ago, and one of his T's was for hanging on the rim, which doesn't count toward the 16 for suspension.

And I think they will probably take back the one he got for laughing out loud. Good lord, I've never heard of a sillier T.

Delk's coming to Motown

The Pistons are going to sign Tony Delk sometime tomorrow morning. The 6-2 guard cleared waivers about 15 minutes ago, making him eligible to sign with any team he wants to.

The 32-year-old isn't expected to play much for Detroit, but in case Chauncey Billups or Lindsey Hunter suffers an injury, Detroit now has a veteran they know that can come in and do a decent job.

Obviously, Delk isn't going to be a player that's going to make a major impact on this team. But his presence shows that Joe D., to his credit, continues to cover all the bases in case things don't go as planned.

And Delk, to his credit, understands he's walking into a situation where minutes are not going to be there early on, and they may not come at all.

But a chance to win a title, at this stage of his career, was obviously an opportunity he felt was too good to pass up.

Stay tuned for more info to come ...

I saw the footage of the incident that led to Rasheed getting the technical. He got bumped by Ilgauskas, and then was laughing. Then the officials gave Rasheed a tech, for laughing? And I love Sheed's reaction, he said, "You're giving me a technical for laughing"? Pretty ridiculous.

Dang- The Pistons are getting worked by the Nuggets. mad.gif

I live in this town and follow the Nuggets - and Detroit should have no trouble taking it to them. The Nuggs su*& - the only reason they're winning their division is 'cause it's the worst in the NBA.

Well I sure hope they pull it together hear in the second half - there's no excuse for not beating this team....

Game over, lost by 11.

Awful game today, we were outrebounded 59 to 35, they had 22 offensive rebounds to our 8. Marcus Camby 20 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots, basically all on Hamilton. Just a pathetic performance by the Pistons. And I'd like to know the last time Prince actually had a good game, it's been a heck of a long time now.

Yes pathetic. I follow the Nuggets - basically Anthony is a great player, but as a team they're awful. Camby is pretty good , but he's always battling some injury that inhibits him. Kmart had a good game tonight - but the guy's a total jerk - he shows up about once a month to play. The Pistons don't haveto play their best game to beat this club, they just have to play smart. Oh well, one down the drain. Billups was good in the first half but he had some real bloopers too.

Someone offered me a tik for this game too - I almost went - glad I didn't!!

Darko is good, Darko is very good. Some called him a dud and pathetic, but I knew all along he was going to be a star. And it makes me sad to think what could have been. Thanks Larry Brown.

Just his impact on the Magic. Whenever he's in the game, they make runs and improve. Today he scored 12 points on 6-7 shooting, had 9 rebounds including 4 offensive, and had 2 blocks and 2 assists. And remember he's still only 20, it's no wonder the Pistons took him so highly, he is without doubt an extremely talented player. I just wish Rick Carlisle had the oppertunity to coach Darko, because he's not afraid to play rookies, whereas Brown destroyed him because he just didn't ever want to play him.

What a wasted oppertunity for the Pistons.

They slowly lost interest in that game and blew some oppurtunities to get right back in it.

Darko is going to be good, he just wasn't going to be good here, he wasn't going to get the playing time. I wish him the best.

That game last night was crazy. I thought they really were going to lose, but at the same time, I was thinking about how many come-from-behind wins they got with last second shots from players like Billups and Rip! I was a bit surprised when Rip made it, though, because it looked(to me at least) he was off balance. Regardless, they got the win.

Nice job Pistons!

A few comment regarding the Pistons. I think we’re playing far from our best right now; we’ve had a pretty strenuous schedule, playing something like 7 games in 10 days. I’m really worried about Tayshaun Prince; he’s averaged less than 9 points per game over the last 10 games at less than 30%. That’s a horrendous stretch; he needs to regain his form because he is vital to our chances. From all reports his defense has been a little down as well, so I don’t know what the reason behind his struggles are.

Rasheed Wallace is going overboard with the three point attempt, he took 13 last night. That’s inexcusable; he should be playing in the paint, not constantly taking threes. McDyess was playing well last night; he scored 10 points on 4-5 shooting, and he should have received more substantial playing time.

Tony Delk made his first appearance last night, and I think he did reasonably well. He came in at the end of the first quarter, continued in the second and he assisted on two consecutive jumpers from Dice. He then made a layup. So definitely some good signs.

And I know it sounds as though I'm always negative, but I just thought I would share my thoughts and see what you think.

Not inexcusable. Besides Dirk he is the only 7+ foot guy that can drain threes with ease, even left handed. I don't think Peja is over 7 feet...

He should be working inside the paint but if he has an open look for a three he is gonna take it and with good reason, he can knock them down.

I'm sorry but we are no longer the best team in the league, that belongs to either Dallas or San Antonio. The whole season we've been leading the race for home court advantage and now our lead is basically non existent. We lost again to the Lakers today, we were up by 13 points late in the third quarter and we then allowed the Lakers on a 18-0 run.

Rebounding once again a worry, we were outrebounded 44-30. That's another game of complete domination by our opponent on the boards. Ben Wallace with 5 rebounds, and people made the point that he looked tired from the beginning of the game, yet Saunders persisted with him right until the end. Not even one minute of court time by Dale Davis. Tayshaun Prince continues his horrible stretch, it’s got to the point where he shouldn’t even be starting, but even if he is he shouldn’t be playing any more than about 32 minutes. His offensive game is gone and he struggles to defend anymore. He came back into the game with about five minutes left and missed three consecutive shots. Rasheed started the game on fire, hitting his first six shots, including 3-3 threes. However as the game went on he kept firing, and kept missing, and he missed 10 of his last 11 shots.

Probably the only good sign to come from the game was Tony Delk, who checked into the game in the last quarter and hit a three, had 5 points and two rebounds in 6 minutes.

An 18-0 run!?!? Wow that IS cause for concern.

I agree that Prince looks tired; surprizing since he was the only Piston who had the All-Star break.

Sheed is taking WAY too many threes. Who does he think he is? Donyell Marshall?

We need to start pounding the ball inside again, because this perimeter game is not gonna cut it against the San Antonios and Dallas's of the league. This team's play right now is a far cry from their dominant performance in the paint against (ironically) the Lakers in 2004.

But we still have the best record in the league...

Dallas isn't invincible, San Antonio beat them last Thursday to take them and their fans off Cloud 9...

I'm still slightly concerned...I mean, the Spurs and Mavs are a mere 1.5 games behind us. And look us compared to the other top teams the last 20 games...we don't look any more dominant than the other top teams...

Detroit 14-6

Dallas 18-2

San Antonio 17-3

Phoenix 16-4

Miami 15-5

I hope we pick it up before the playoffs. I want to see us going into the playoffs playing at our best...

The thing I don't like about the Pistons under Flip is the defense. Yes, I like the more wide open offense, but many nights that hard working D doesn't show up. Also Prince has been playing like a baby for a while now. Stop crying to the refs, and play some basketball. I'm sick of people saying he should be an all star. Are you kidding me? Prince an all star? If the rim was 5 inches wider maybe he could make some baskets.

One team that I have watched alot this year, and not many people talk about them due to the Mavs/Spurs is the Suns. I think the Suns could definatley be in the finals, and they could give us run for our money if we even get to the finals.

The defense is no different from last year except they play the zone sometimes. Catch the Spurs games and the Pacers game a week or two ago? They SHUT DOWN the pacers in the fourth, it was SICK.

The PROBLEM is they turn the switch on defensively when they feel like it. Most games they just toy around with teams.

There is nothing to worry about. How many times have I been saying this the past two years? They will play like they did the first 45 games when the playoffs roll around, hell they will probably play even better.

*edit* I guess Delk is looking very impressive, I haven't seen the past two games he has played but people are talking about him.

Thats what I was trying to say when I was bashing the D. I think Delk has looked good, he was one of the only bright spots while we let the JV LA Lakers go on a 18-0 run
