Ouch. I know some of us are loyal Ozzie fans and for the most part he can do no wrong, but you have to admit it was a horrible game for not just the wings, but for him too. I am sick of watching Ozzie look lost in net, but I enjoy watching the wings. Harsh comment. But then again, after a loss like this I have a feeling that a lot of us are on edge. Oh well, go Hawks (beat some Preds ass --which is highly unlikely).

I thought I myself said Osgood didn't have a good game? Yes? No? I think I did. It's not a harsh comment, what's harsh is everyone being on Osgood's ass 24 freaking 7. Win or lose, people rat on him. It's f**king pathetic and i'm sick of it. That being sad, im pissed off because the way the game went. If there is one lead in hockey that I am not comfortable with it would have to be having a 3-0 lead. Teams ALWAYS come back when down 3-0. Such an unsafe lead..more than half the time the team that is up sits back, and thinks they have the game in the bag only later to get whooped with the next 4, 5, or 6 goals. The WHOLE team played bad, not just Osgood himself.

I just want to know why Ozzie started this game. Manny had two wins in a row. Why didn't he get the start untill he lost one. I think that this would be one of the better ways to deal with our goalie situation.

Good point. I would have started Manny, but then again I'm not the coach. However, at one point in the last two weeks I believe Babcock said Osgood would be his starter, which would explain why he started.

Babcock is a joke. He was supposed to be so damned tough, but he won't even give the refs s**t when they so richly deserve it. I don't think the players fear him any more than they did Lewis, who wrote the book on how to coach like a wuss.

The refs can't change their minds. Once they call a penalty, it cannot be repealed.

What's with you and NN saying "don't watch when osgood's in net". Like that's even an option. If you're a wings fan.. your'e a wings fan.. and you watch the games regardless... doesn't make us have to worship the ground Osgood walks on. I dislike Osgood... and I hate it when he's in net... but not watching a wings game because of that is outrageous. Some people dislike other players (lilja for example.) So are you going to tell them.. "when lilja's on the ice..change the channel"....

Losses happen, the team fell apart (6 unanswered goals in unacceptable!)... sucks yeah! end of the world? NO!

Yep. Sad, but true. And so NO MATTER how he plays they'll discredit him of anything. If he wins and plays really well it's "Solid game by the WINGS!" if he loses, and the wings lose big it's "Osgood sucks! He needs to get traded" and then the very next game where he plays again and plays good it's a whole different situation.

Im a die hard fan of the team. Osgood had some bad starts, ill give him that, but dammit when he has no defensive help some times. Some people are allready looking a next year, instead of looking to now. This team is still one of the best in the NHL. Is it detroit's fault that St. Louis, Colombus, Chicago, and pretty much half of the west is weak, no. Manny has had a lot of shaky starts this year, but noone get's on him when he plays shaky. Its all osgood's fault, and I have heard it all. It dosent help when Lilja is a pylon out there, and fischer is out. This team has holes, and it goes way past goaltending. It dosent hlep when you play Minnesota and you go 1-8 on the powerplay.

Not one to place blame, but tonight's loss is mostly on Lebda's shoulder's.  That first goal that the Star's score is what started it all.  Lebda was laying in the net behind Ozzgood fore about 6or 7 seconds before the wrap around occurred.  He had more than enough time to get out of the net when the puck went behind the net.  Ozzgood watched from the right, and saw the star coming around, and then stumbled over Lebda.  If I was Babcock I would have benched Lebda for the rest of the period.  Because Lebda turtled in the goal the Star's got the momentum they needed.  The rest is on Babcock, and Ozzgood.  Ozzgood should have made saves, and Babcock should have pulled Ozzy after the 4th goal.

I didn't see the game, but from wha it sounds like, I agree that Babcock needed to yank Ozzy after the fourth goal.

Because either Ozzy was playing poorly and should've been pulled, or the team quit playing and Osgood should've been pulled to change things up and keep him from getting shelled.

EDIT: Did Babcock use the timeout at any point to try and stop the bleeding?

Because either Ozzy was playing poorly and should've been pulled, or the team quit playing and were hanging Osgood out to dry so he should've been yanked to keep him from getting shelled. Or both.

Funny how Turco was pulled after only letting in three and Babs always leaves Ozzie in until the goals reach 6.

Yeah he should of after the fourth. Maybe that would of gave the Wings some momentum with a goalie change much like it did for the Stars when they pulled Turco, and put in Hedberg.

Nope.

Wow.

It seems like at the very least when Dallas scored twice less than a minute apart early in the third period, Babcock could've used the timeout. If not sooner.
