Just trying to help save you from pain.

peace

Seeing the score later that night is still pain regardless of if we watched it or not.

But that's like the quick pull on a bandaid rather than painfully ripping each hair out one by one. wink.gif

peace

like a bandaid "right off"!!! ha ha seinfeldism

ya.. you're right... but i just can't NOT watch... i just can't

2-8 on the powerplay tonight! Wanna put the blame somewhere, put it on the wings lack of shots on the powerplay. Tongiht it was pas,pas pas, no shots. When you shoot you create opportunities, no shots, you have no opportunities to score.

I didn't see the game, but from wha it sounds like, I agree that Babcock needed to yank Ozzy after the fourth goal.

That's what I said. "time to yank Opie".. after that 4th goal.

Holy crap! We agree on something regarding Osgood, OWF!!! biggrin.gif

Yah, either way you cut it, whether he was stinking up the joint or getting abandoned by the team, he should've been pulled earlier.

Plus the goaltender switch could've also been like a timeout. Try to kill some Dallas momentum.

I have an idea its fresh and original...

Waive Ozzie, Bring up Howard to sit on the bench the rest of the season because with Manny we are going to win the rest of the game AND go 16 and out in the Post Season rolleyes.gif

Yeah, then when Manny gets hurt by somebody running him in the playoffs (which the wuss Wings would not avenge) then Howard can play goal, and pass the puck right to the opponent for a goal with one minute left in the game, just like Ozzie did against, I beleive, the Sharks?

Maybe that crucial playoff screw-up by Ozzie back before he started shaving is the basis for so many being uneasy with him in goal.

I'd just like to know how many times we've been beaten by backup goaltenders? It's got to be a lot of times. Our guys just always seem to let up when the starting goalie is not in. But I guess that would be too much of an adjustment to expect from millionaires!

2 for 8 is good. 25%. of course it's not quite as good as 3-5... ohmy.gif

bottom line, teams that skate hard and play physically will beat the wings. a team that back checks will have no problem keep us out of they're zone. a team that skates hard to loose pucks will have no problem getting them, a team that is rough along the boards will have no trouble controlling them, and a team that fore checks well will have no trouble gaining our zone. the wings are soft and they refuse to play a complete game. they refuse to work hard for sixty minutes and they don't have anybody power through anything.

Its like the team is a bunch of kids that need constant direction on how to play... They get scored on early and come back late, so the Coach stresses "COMING OUT QUICK" so they do that and then slack late in the game.

Playing a complete game is something they find very hard to do. Maybe an ammendment to the rules in the new NHL could allow for a coach to strap on the skates and then skate hand in hand with the players to show them how they are supposed to play the entire 60 mins.

I could only watch the 2nd half of the game and I am amazed we had a 3-0 lead at all... the Wings played HORRIBLE in the half that I saw.... Then again we couldn't muster a goal in the last what? 38mins.

1 - Jere Lehtenin - 2 goals, GWG (#'s 21 and 22 on the year)

2 - Sergei Zubov - 3 assists, (#'s 24, 25 and 26 on the year)

3 - Johan Hedburg - 13 saves

Frickin Hedburg? What did he do that was any good? After Turco was benched the Wings offense went cold, so he virtually did nothing.

Damn no-good bastards must have paid someone off for those 28 wins then.

teams ALWAYS seem to play their backups against us... Maybe they realize that when they are in our players just work to pad their stats and fire the biscuit from anywhere and never really getting a hard shot to save. The team has been handcuffed by backups for as long as I can remember.

Hedburg was a star of the game? Ouch, I didn't think he did anything stellar. But then again if you compare his play to that of our goalie's, he rocked. But anyways, I knew the 3-0 lead was too good to be true. I can't remember the last time I saw 6 unanswered goals--probably never. When the first goal went in against us, we were screwed. The wings freaked out and then as a result came the rest of their 6 goals. I am hoping the wings will rebound against this one. Something is for sure, Babcock isn't happy. He warned the wings against their lack of effort (threatened them with longer, harder practices). I wouldn't mind him taking up on that offer. The wings, no just Ozzie, need a kick in the pants after that one.

Tell me how 2-8 and being 25% is good on the power play. Anything below at least 40% is not good. Especially with several snipers on this team, I just dont know how you go 2-8 on the powerplay, unless you turn the puck over like they did several times tonight.

Not only was this game a total kick in the balls.

Now old Feds has 2 goddamn assists over in the Desert.

ARGH!!!

On a more sober note: This was but the second time we had our goalie taken out lest injury. It HAS to be some kind of principle. I'd like to have it explained to me.

Detroit leads the league with a 25.0% PP success rate. Nobody's gotten even close to 40% in years.

Seriously, you have HUGH, HIGH, UNBELIEVEABLE, expectations. The #1 power play in the league is Detroit. No, they don't have a 40% powerplay. It is 25%. Don't believe me, check it out...NHL/Powerplays
