Game 4 ppd.

Game 4 thursday

Game 5 friday

That means I can watch the Episode of Ghost Hunters I taped tonight...

hey...if game 4 is pushed back a day or two...does that open the door for Kenny Rogers to pitch game 5?? Talk about being Public Enemy #1 in st louis.

 You are correct sir!

The rainout gives St. Louis manager Tony La Russa a chance to juggle his rotation if he wants. He could bring Jeff Weaver back on regular rest in Game 5 instead of pitching rookie Anthony Reyes again. Reyes, however, tossed eight-plus strong innings for a 7-2 victory in the opener.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland could do the same with Kenny Rogers , who beat Weaver in Game 2 on Sunday night and extended his shutout streak to 23 innings this postseason. But Leyland specifically set up his rotation to give Rogers two starts at home, and the

What happens with the schedule if tonight is a washout? actually how long till they cancel the entire game tonight?

It's supposed to rain non stop in St Louis through Friday. on top of what they have already, we have a severe weather system here in Denver that is blowing that way for the next few days too. I don't see any way they are going to get one, let alone 2 games in before the weekend. Plus, they are trying to schedule for TV time of 8:35 EST - which makes hard rain even more likely.

Detroit isn't supposed to be much better this weekend from the weather channel - but those of you that live there probably know what's up better. This sucks for me because I was going to go dt Detroit to watch the game somewhere Sat night when I'm in town - but that's doubtful now.

IMO, this is why the World Series need to be played alot earlier. Baseball at the end of October just isn't meant to be. I personally think they should shorten the season by a few games, but the baseball purists think I'm a heathen - lol.

Back in the day baseball played a 154 game schedule. It was lengthed to 162 in the 1960's. I think baseball has actually gotten pretty lucky it hasn't had more weather problems in the World Series. You'll taking a fairly big chance playing this late in October. If you've got southern teams, it isn't a big deal. But with northern or midwestern teams, there's always the chance for poor weather.

You stole my sig Amanda! Haha...you must have liked the Block O.

I really hope they play tonite....but it might have been good for them to have last night off. Kills the Cards momentum and gives us a chance to straighten things out.

For those of us without Insider, what's the article say?

The stadium radar gun and the Fox radar gun were substantially different during Game 3 - but only when Zumaya was pitching. For all the other pitchers, the two guns were giving similar if not identical readings. But for Zumaya, Fox showed the usual 99-102 range, while the stadium gun showed 95-96. Verlander was actually afraid Zumaya was pitching hurt until he went back to the clubhouse to double-check with the TV, and Todd Jones says he wishes he had a fastball that you could artifically subtract 8 MPH from it and still come up with 95.

this is the type of game in which I have seen in series past that the winner of this game could very well get a boost of momentum enough to win the world series. Both teams playing great and this appears to be down to the final pitch. great game.

I can't believe how they p*ssed this game away. Granderson falling, Rodney throwing the ball away, and Monroe unable to come up with the ball which led to the game winning run. It just wasn't meant to be tonight. Hey, at least we're entitled to play Game 5 - and heck, it looks like history could repeat itself!

Damn. Damn Damn Damn.

Dammit, I hate Eckstein. I hate everything about him.

I'd rather face Puljos then Eckstein in a clutch situation. You want to see a guy who gives it all he has every game, it's Eckstein. Man, he played great game!

It looks like it's finally the Cardinals year. Joe Buck mentioned this a couple times that our young pitchers are high on talent, but low on experience, and I have to agree.

We know from being Red Wings fans that you need to lose first before you win it all. If we can't comeback, atleast we're gaining a ton of experience. Plus, you know Iron Mike won't rest until he wins a World Series.

And we know from being Tigers fans that we're sick and damn tired of losing :(:(

Oh well, fine. All I can say is REMEMBER '68.

You know what the worst part is? I was thinking while Eckstein was batting that I wanted to walk him. Eckstein had been hitting all day. Taguchi may as well be the Japanese word for "good field no hit". Lays down good bunts and plays the field well but there were two out and you can't drive in runs with your glove.

Do Wainright and Reyes get the same excuse? Because to me, that's all it is. It's boneheaded errors that a ROOKIE shouldn't even make.

That game was a joke. My grandmother could make that throw to first! UGH.

It's just utterly amazing how this team can just a complete reversal from a week ago -- and I agree about Eckstein -- he needs to lay off the caffeine.

I have a feeling that the Tigers will have more post-season chances down the road.

I agree. Just think how much more lights out our pitching staff is going to be after this post season run.

If we can't rerun 1968, we'll be back.

Think of all the pitchers we have under the age of 27 though. Other than Jones and Rogers, our young arms are experiencing their first taste of Post Season Play.
