I had given them up for dead once Cleveland broke free, but now that they're (I think) tied with Seattle for three games out of the wild card and get a three-game series with the Mariners in Detroit.... Let's hope they don't screw it up.

Good win yesterday, but its hard for me to not think about another near costly perfomance by Rodney. Opened the floodgates wide open Sunday and blows another lead yesterday...he's been better for the most part since his return but i still have zero confidence when he enters the game.

Tigs doing well tonight so far, i think they'll sweep Seattle as theyre on the downslide, but those friggin' Yanks...its going to be very tough to overtake them.

Seattle poses no problem at this point. It's the Yankees (who called it?) that are the main threat.

If we keep playing like we have though, we'll be fine. Tonights game was great. Hitting was top class, and the pitching didn't blow it either (surprisingly, that's mostly what is hoped for with them anymore).

The Seattle series works in our favor. They haven't won a game in a very long time.

Yanks win again. Honestly if theyre able to take care of business against KC like we've been unable to its hard to say they dont deserve the w.c. Funny thing is all of a sudden it looks like Cleveland's the team we have better shot at overtaking! 5 games out now, with games coming against them.

Get this thing down to 3 games by the time we play them, thats all i want. Whatever happens, the chance was there and the better team took it under the pressure.

WHAT A WIN!!! Halladay looked unhittable throughout that game. Then the Tigers battled back like Champs in the 9th. As soon as they walked Sheffield with 2 OUTS, I knew we were in business with Mr. Bad ass himself, Magglio Ordonez at the plate. Beautiful win. Love it.

woo hooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we don't want to go away just yet... maggs is the man and should get MVP. A-Rod just hits homers, but maggs does everything else. we need to beat up on Texas and sweep this series

Theres good news and bad news. The good- What a victory last night! Seeing Leyland jumping around with the guys was priceless! Bad news- our playoff hopes just ended this afternoon

Magglio has been unreal...but unless theres a drastic change theres just no way he should or will get the MVP over A-Rod. I cant be a homer on this one. At one point I thought so, but look at what A-Rod has done over the past few weeks in propelling his team to a 4 game or so lead in the wildcard?

Playoff hopes aren't over yet. We're 4 games back with, what, 15 games or so left? It'll be really hard, but not impossible.

I just made an A-Rod voodoo doll.

Tonights game is so crucial. We're only 3.5 games back on the Yanks. I would almost say it's a must win game. But in reality, as long as we win the series, we're still in good shape. But IMO we're gonna have to win basically every series from here on out. If we can do this, we have an excellent chance of seeing some post-season Tigers baseaball.

OK, here we go:

15 games left in the season (Yanks and Tribe both have a game in hand, though, I believe).

3.5 behind NY for the wildcard (and they're playing Boston)

5.5 behind Cleveland for the division (still in reach)

If we get hot right now, I think we can take the Central back. We get a crucial three-game series against the Indians after this Twins series and six of our remaining games are against the two worst teams in the division.

Is that Winston Churchill I hear? It sounds like he has something to say. Lets listen in.

"The Tigers shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Michigan,

we shall fight on the lakes of Minnesota,

we shall fight with growing confidence in the Wild Card Race, we shall defend our Title, whatever the cost may be,

we shall fight in Indian territory,

we shall fight Royals,

we shall fight on the fields and in the streets of Chicago,

we shall fight in Twin Cities;

we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this AL Title or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the ballpark, armed and guarded by Seffields Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in Magglio's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."- Winston Churchill, 2007

What a great win tonight! Robertson looked pretty slick out there. And once again, Timo Perez lights it up. Great overall team performance. And with the Yanks being down 4-7 in the 8th, Im thinking by midnight we'll be just 2.5 games out for the wildcard. Gotta love it.

EDIT - Well so much for that Boston lead. It's still in the 8th, but now the Yanks are up 8-7. Unbelievable. Those Yanks are gonna be tough to catch. I still have faith.

I was a little scared for a minute because of Todd Jones and all. (300th save) I really just wish he'd hang em up. Maybe be a pitching coach or something. But anyways, as for the win, it was huge. Cleveland lost today. So who knows, if we're somehow able to get the sweep. We're only we would only be 1.5 games back for the division. I dont think thats necassarily gonna happen or anything, but it's pretty awesome that there is still that possibility. And if Boston can beat the Yanks tonight, we're right in there for the wildcard. And honestly, with the way our starters have been looking, I think we have a damn good chance still of seeing some beautiful Tigers post-season baseball.

I don't expect to get a sweep against Cleveland, but we definitely need to take two out of three. If they can manage to sweep them, though, that would basically make the division race almost a tie - we've got a game in hand against them.

Oh s***! I totally forgot that we have a game in hand. So as long as we can just win the series. We're still in really good shape. I cant wait for tonight to get going. Tigers Baseball and Monday Night Football. Gotta love it!

Alright, we got a 4-1 lead heading into the 4th. For the love of God can we please hold onto this lead?! IMO if they dont win this series. Absolutely zero chance of winning the division. If we want any shot at the division, we have to win every series we have left, and hope for a few Cleveland losses along the way.

Verlander is pitching. So I definitely expect us to get the "W".

-edit- Well so much for holding that ******* lead. We couldnt even get through 1 inning and now it's a tie-game. We better ******* pull it together.

What in the hell are they doing out there? They're hitting .500 in this game, the Indians have just two hits, and it's tied at 4 midway through? After yesterday, with the Tigers blowing a late lead and the Yanks coming back to win AGAIN, I've almost given up hope. Without a win today, I think it's over.

Well it's official. We have no hopes in overtaking the Indians for the division. BUT luckily we are still only 4 games back on the Yanks. So as long as we can get a streak going, we still might be in decent shape for the wildcard. Hopefully Baltimore can step up a little against the Yanks. Then NY plays the Devil Rays. Normally I would be pessimistic about that. But the Rays always seam to give NY fits. So hopefully that can happen again. I havent completely gave up hope yet on the wildcard. I think we can still pull it off.
