MLive: Cleary Out 3-4 Weeks

Ansar Khan:

Dan Cleary, the left wing on the No. 2 line, will be out three-to-four weeks with a second-degree sprain of his medial collateral ligament. The injury was the result of a hip check from Edmonton's Raffi Torres late in Friday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Oilers.

Well, that sucks. Granted Cleary wasn't putting up points recently but that's another blow to our God-awful second line. Hopefully Samuelsson can come back quick (it says in the article 10-14 days).

Another reason to add why I can't stand Torres

Me either, The sight of him makes me want to vomit. :lookaround:

I'm almost hoping Holland makes two trades by Tuesday to help give us a little extra security for a good playoff run.

time to implode the 2nd line...

put Franzen, Flip and Hudler on the 2nd line

Draper, Maltby, Ellis 3rd

Williams, Lang, Langfeld 4th - give em like 2 seconds a game

i'm SO SICK TO DEATH OF THAT LINE

After this, Hudler and Filpulla will likely play more that 8-10 shifts a game.

I regret the player that will have to play with Lang and Williams on 2nd line.

Yet you would keep Williams and Lang together? Interesting.

I would be so pleased if we got Torres even though all of us hate him, we could use him. Absolute balls that Cleary is out.

Funny how important this makes Samuelsson's return. I sure hope he can provide us with some kind of spark.

This injury also solidifies Franzen staying on the grind line.

lol i forgot that he was on the team ... its been so long he hasnt played ... whens he returning?

Torres is a good player. He hits hard and scores 20 goals a season. Definitely a guy that I would want on my team. Hate him anywhere else but would love him. That being said I doubt Edmonton would trade him.

BLAKE (Jason not Rob) Should replace Cleary if we can make the right offer...check out the topic I already started on that.LINK

What an offensive powerhouse second line we have now! Lang, Williams, and now Franzen!

HELLO BABCOCK! Do Hudler and Filppula not exist? Please, why doesn't he play these two on the second line? Franzen on the second? WTF is all I can say.

Sucks, but stop acting like this is some huge emergency. Cleary is no offensive wizard, and Samuelsson is coming back soon. Detroit will be fine.

So this sint bad for our team right ?

Cleary brings so much more to this team then sameulson, He's better offesivly , He hits , he has heart and he always gives 110% , this is terrible for our club , I hope kenny does soemthing soon or Mr Lang and Mr Williams are gonna have to previde second line scroing and we know how thats been lately.
