arin 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 I think he should still juggle Lang out of the 2nd line.. Maybe putting Lang on the 4th will get him to start doing something. Reward Filp and give him some 2nd line minutes and see how it goes. Put Lang on the doghouse and see if he revitalizes.

TheLegend19 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Calder- Lang- Bertuzzi Cleary- Filppula -Samuelsson Franzen- Draper -Maltby That's a heck of a lineup. I like those, but I have a problem with putting Lang on the second line. I'd switch Lang and Fippula, IMHO.
Sting 11 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 How about powerplay lines? Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Bertuzzi Calder - Lang - Samuelsson Holmstrom must be on the PP, to screen the goalie for the point shots.
JeeSpot82 10 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 How about powerplay lines? Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Bertuzzi Calder - Lang - Samuelsson Homer is MOST valuable on the PP.

RedRum #1 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Bertuzzi Calder-Lang-Holmstrom Maltby-Draper-Cleary Franzen-Filppula-Samuelsson Good thought about Bertuzzi eventually playing with Zetterberg and Datsyuk. IMO the only line set in stone is Maltby/Drape/Franzen. Either Calder or Samuelsson will play with Lang, and whoever doesnt will play with Flip and Cleary on a very quality 4th line. Mighty Wings 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 (edited) They got 2 forwards and only gave up one, meaning hudler is gonna be most likely to sit out when everyone comes back. But Is it just me or are the red wings kinda thinking that samulesson could possibly be out for the year? Edited February 27, 2007 by Mighty Wings
BigTex 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 The Wings covered every "just in case player X is out for an extended period" situation by adding one more good forward than they gave up. I'm really feeling good here if Bert starts playing soon.

Dano33 41 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 (edited) Dats Zetter Calder Bertuzzi Lang Frazen Homer Drapper Maltby Sam Filppula Hudler i dont think putting homer with draper and maltby would do anything, he has to stay with datsyuk and zetterberg. and im sure cleary would be in the lineup too Edited February 27, 2007 by Dano33
Mila 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Dats Zetter Calder Bertuzzi Lang Frazen Homer Drapper Maltby Sam Filppula Hudler Slitting the best line in the NHL today by Calder would be a joke.

If we were coach, that would be justice, but I think they will give him a chance to prove himself with Calder and Bertuzzi. Apparently Lang is the kind of player who sinks or swims with his line. Hell, it would be nice if he was the main factor in getting others to play, but that is not his thing.

Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 Here's how I'd set things up for the playoffs: Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Calder-Lang-Bertuzzi Cleary-Draper-Hudler Maltby-Franzen-Filppula Lidstrom-Kronwall Markov-Schneider Lebda-Chelios Hasek Osgood Samuelsson can trade off with Hudler and Filppula. Looking at those combos, the deals Holland made for Calder and Bertuzzi were excellent. We have a good mix of scoring and grit. Besides Betruzzi we're still a little small, but we won't be pushed around as much, like the last few seasons. Lastly, I think Langer's going to pick it up with better line mates. Reme 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 (edited) Dats - Z - Homer Calder - Lang - Bert Sammy/Cleary - Draper - Hudler Franzen - Filppula - Maltby Hudler needs more ice. Maltby needs less. Edited February 27, 2007 by Reme
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted February 27, 2007 (edited) Homer will STAY with Dats and Z. Our powerplay lines should take a turn now. The way I see it, SHOULD be. Datsyuk - Zetterberg - Holmstrom Bertuzzi - Lang - Hudler Cleary should be demoted to not playing on the PP, while a power forward with two finesse Czechs in Lang and Hudler would be perfect. Just my opinion, I really could see it working though. Maybe even Calder in Hudler's place, but realistically, Hudler should be seeing more PP time. It's his strength, or at least, would be.
