Coyote0106 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 First of all, Norton hasn't played a game in a REALLY long time in Grand Rapids. When I talked to him at GR's season ticket holder party, he told me he is having some back problems, and its not looking really good for him playing anytime soon. IMO, that means Norton isn't going to get a callup, PERIOD. As for Bootland, he is playing with a stick up his butt, even down here in GR. Keefe has come in and stole the "tough guy" act immediately. Bootland has not shown any hussle, or anything of interest. He needs to get his butt in gear if he wants a shot in ANY other organization, because the wings are done with him. He's a carreer AHLer. Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 Send Langfeld and Hudler the gremlin down and bring up Booter and Norton.I'd like to see a Norton/Bootland/Bertuzzi line.See if Lapointe trys to cheapshot someone then. Man alive, this is some classic posting. That line wouldn't last together for more than 2 seconds. Yeah, regrettably it would also create the need for three permanent recliners in the Wings` penalty box. That, and three tv's tuned in to Seinfeld.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 I'd say the new tough guy the Griffins signed, Adam Keefe, would be a lot better than Norton or Bootland. Heh, maybe he can actually win a few fights, unlike the other two.

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 That line would force the league to institute a mercy rule. You think that line is tougher than the McRae/Probert/Kocur trio that saw ice in 1986?
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 You think that line is tougher than the McRae/Probert/Kocur trio that saw ice in 1986? Im pretty sure you're being sarcastic this time eva lol, but the small part of me that thinks you may be serious is quivering at that thought! No matter how you mixed and matched the bouts...the Booter/Norton/Bert line would be left lying in pools of blood! Probert vs Norton - ummm...next! Kocur vs Bertuzzi - Steve Moore wouldnt be sending Bert any get well cards...thats for sure! McRae vs Bootland - :nonono:
Coyote0106 2 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 he's should be happy, he's making half a million dollars this year I'm sorry, but that comment seems pretty ignorant to me. Its all fine if Bootland wants to be happy making AHL money. Bootland, at this point, sucks. He either skates around and takes stupid penalties, or often times isn't even noticed on the ice. If he wants to be satisfied with AHL then all the power to him, and dont cange a thing. But last I checked MOST hockey players want to be playing in the NHL. And Booter is far away from doing that with his current play. I'd say the new tough guy the Griffins signed, Adam Keefe, would be a lot better than Norton or Bootland. Heh, maybe he can actually win a few fights, unlike the other two. The bigest surprise to me was seeing Keefe actually throw punches. Most of the fights we've seen this year were hugging matches, and then Keefe rolls into town and actually throws some hard punches. He's definately turned into a crowd favorite over night. Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 (edited) ^^ Hey Coyote- can you give me a lowdown on Keefe? Like who's he been fighting and what were the results? When i read the name Keefe i figured it was Sheldon who used to play for the Lighting. I dont know Adam. I have to admit 36 PIMS in 4 games makes me think he's my kind of player Edited March 4, 2007 by Lou_Siffer

When i read the name Keefe i figured it was Sheldon who used to play for the Lighting. I dont know Adam. I have to admit 36 PIMS in 4 games makes me think he's my kind of player I have been following Keefe's career since i first saw him in the Ohl and i can safely say that he is another Cam Janssen Lou, he is only 5'11 195 pounds but he plays like he is 6' 3" 225 and he will fight anyone and he very seldom loses fights. He is definately my kind of player. The kid is fearless, he tucks his chin in and just throws bombs, he has equal power in both hands. Labelle of Syracuse last night fancied his chances against Keefe but he found out the hard way, Keefe hit him with five unanswered rights with the last punch buckling labelle's knees and sending him to the ice, Labelle tok a few seconds to get up but when he did he was bleeding from the nose and mouth. I know he was Canucks property last season but i don't know if they still hold his rights. If they don't the Wings better be all over this kid, he is only 22. I was also wondering if anyone held his rights. Hopefully the 'Nucks dont anymore and the Wings will notice what he's up to. At the very least, sign him up so you have the capability of bringing the kid up! Another Cam Janssen? He's my favorite right now so you know i'd be all about this! Sounds like a very entertaining player.

It is looking more and more like Bootland is finished as a Wing so maybe the Wings played a big part in getting the Griffs to aquire Keefe so that they can get a better look at what he has on a nightly basis. Keefe is 2 years younger than Bootland, he is a better skater than Bootland, he is far tougher and a better fighter, he doesn't have the same skill and offence as Bootland but we see where that got Booter. So maybe Keefe is getting ready to take Booters spot in the Org. The new breed of enforcer is coming into the Nhl in the form of Cam Janssen types and i think Keefe would fit right in on the Wings 3rd or 4th line. Here's another clip of him from the Ohl against Robin Big Snake: http://www.robinbigsnake.com/videovault/05...Snake_Keefe.wmv
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 4, 2007 (edited) Keefe's offensive numbers in the OHL actually look pretty decent for a guy that also had 286 penalty minutes in a season. From Wikipedia: Sheldon Keefe is currently an owner of the Pembroke Lumber Kings ice hockey team. On June 6, 2006, Keefe became the Lumber Kings' head coach and general manager. This confirms his retirement as a professional hockey player. Did he have an injury or something? I tough he was an ok depth player at the NHL level. He certainly could totally own the AHL. EDIT: Apparently the Lumber Kings play in the YZERMAN division of the Central Junior A Hockey League.... Edited March 4, 2007 by eva unit zero
