The Love Thread

This thread is for some much needed Wings-lovin'.

I would like to announce (as I have many times previously) with gusto that sliced bread better watch out, Kyle Calder is in town. I thought I knew what working hard meant: I just tried to work as hard as Kyle and I pulled my groin.

Franzen gets some love too for logging 26 minutes (WTF?!) tonight and doin' it in style.

Lang is the biggest bum on the face of the Earth. But at least he put up a pair of points tonight. Mild love for Robert.

Spread the love, guys.

Seriously, though, I thought the team played a GREAT game, especially considering the absence of key personnel; we were even more injury-depleted than were the Preds. EXCELLENT effort by all--Bootland looked great too!--and it was great to see the crowd getting so into it.

I will certainly avow that Osgood is the superior shootout goaltender of our dynamic duo. I have always thought so.

Guy-love for all!

Calder has been just amazing and I'll hand it to Osgood for redeeming himself and recompsing himself after such a frustrating fluke goal. Franzen continues to impress me and that was before his shoot out goal. Also Datsyuk is showing he can play well without Zetterberg and on occasions can become a one man team with his takeaways and moves towards the net. Lang looks to be getting a bit better, hopefully rolling by playoff time and at least he's putting up the numbers offensively. Also tons of guy love for all wings throwing around hits tonight, I think we actually out hit them tonight, I'll have to double check that though.

Much love for Dats for playing great! Mule for being so much more then a Mule! Calder for being the hardest working man in showbusiness.

AND Oz for winning us the game in OT! If Oz hadn't showed up we might as well have walked off the ice. You can't win in OT without a good performance from your goalie- at least not against another good goalie...

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!

Yes, a hearty WELCOME TO DETROIT CITY is in order for Kyle Calder. Does anyone not think this team is on the right track? By all accounts a good hard-fought two points today, and we can still look forward to the return to the lineup of three of our grittiest players (Z, Homer, Bert).

Oh, and much love for the underappreciated Langer. Does Calder-Lang-Bert strike anyone as kind of a fun idea? Then we can have Cleary bring some rejuvenation to a line with Draper and Maltby.

Wouldn't be the first time

I've stated my definition of grit in the past, and it's at least understood that Z fits that definition, even if Barnes^2 and Lou don't agree with the definition itself.

A lot of love goes out to it being the 11 year anniversary of Chris Osgood scoring a goal against the Whale. I was there in attendance, and I'll never forget that.

Hell yeah! I was thinking bout that today at the game and thought OMG maybe he'll do it tonight too! haha

Anyways let's talk about love here.

I love each and everyone of the Wings. Ozzie the most of course, followed by Drapes, Huds, Calder, Hank, and Kronner.

Ozzie, I especially love you for the fantastic performance in OT/SO.

Calder, you are amazing..and you need to be a Red Wing for life. My love for you began after you took your first shift as Wing..and since then..it has grown even more.

Franzen, great game tonight. I totally love you, Mule.

Schneids, I love you for getting your 200th tonight. It was a great goal.

Lidstrom, I love you for the amazing backcheck.defensive play in OT that saved the Wings from losing.

Langer, I never thought you were lazy nor sucky..and I've always loved you due to your dominance when on your game.

Datsyuk, I love you because..well...you're Datsyuk!

Wings=Love.

Ahaha okay I am getting carried away.

As usual, absolute love for Pasha...and if you can tell me how you got that first goal past Vokoun, honey, you're smarter than I am...I rewound the DVR a couple times and STILL can't figure it out!

Love and respect to Kyle Calder. I'm impressed!

I love to watch Datsyuk stick handle.

I love to watch Lebda gain speed in the neutral zone and overtake his opponent.

I love to watching Franzen battle for the puck and somehow after he frees the puck, he's magically on the other side of the ice to pick up the loose puck. How does he do that?

I love that Draper seems to get more than his share of breakaways (more need to go in the back of the net)

I love the way Lidstrom can hold in pucks at the blue line, even blasts that should break his stick.

I love that having Calder in the line-up seems to have awakened the sleeping Lang.

I love that so many announcers refer to Holmstrom as the Giant Red Wood hovering at the edge of the crease.

I love the energy the Grand Rapids kids bring to the team.

I love everything Zetterberg does.
