ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) leeeeet's not get ahead of ourselves just yet. Holland did say he was making progress, he just couldn't give an exact time frame when he could return. Back injuries are very tricky and unpredictable. Lets see what the back specialist says before we start hitting the panic button. Edited March 14, 2007 by ShanahanMan
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 (edited) I don't know what to think. I love that everyone is stepping up and that we keep winning, but Hank is a HUGE part of the Wings success. He is the main guy on the team, and well with that being said, I honestly don't have a bad feeling bout his back. Maybe because I am always so damn optimistic?! I'll say he'll be back 3-4 games before the season ends. *fingers crossed* Edited March 14, 2007 by hockeycrazy3033

Guest Agalloch Report post Posted March 14, 2007 I'm not concerned. When you have a playoff spot all but locked up, you're going to let your star players heal their injuries as well as they can to the point where it's 100%. If he's out for the rest of the regular season, that's fine with me, as long as he plays in the playoffs. He still has a little less than a month to be ready. I'm sure it'll be fine. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Sounds like the same situation as Datsyuk last season...
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Yikes...I guess I didn't realize he had been out that long. This doesn't bode well for the playoffs.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Ah man. This is getting bad. We need Zetterberg. Oh, I really hope he can come back by the playoffs. If not...
Zetter is Better 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 I hope Z won`t come back. (hopefully now that I said that out loud it will be jinxed and he will come back ) We need you Zata . Take it easy though, I`d rather have Zata miss the rest of the regular season and come back in the play-offs than have him come back too quickly and hurt his back in the play-offs. **fingers crossed**
FinWing 26 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 it will be hard to win the 1st spot with out him. man im worried!!! I'd for sure give up the first seed if that meant getting him healthy for the playoffs.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 No worries here as of now. I'd definitely like Zetterberg on the ice and it'd be nice to win division, but I want this team as healthy as possible and have some momentum before the playoffs, winning the division or not. If that means Zetterberg has to sit out a bit longer to get healthy for mid-April, then so be it.
Louisville 112 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 From TSN, on last night game.. Notes: While Hasek is Detroit's No. 1 goalie, Mason is 24-11-2 and Tomas Vokoun is 22-9-4 for Nashville. .. Detroit was without Zetterberg (back), Todd Bertuzzi (back), Dan Cleary (knee), Johan Franzen (upper body), Tomas Kopecky (shoulder), and Danny Markov (upper body), and lost Valtteri Filppula (lower body) during the game. .. Zetterberg hopes to return before the playoffs begin April 11, but isn't really confident he will. ''I've never had a back injury before,'' he said. .. Nashville was without Forsberg (upper body), Martin Erat (knee), Scott Hartnell (foot), Scott Nichol (thumb) and Steve Sullivan (back). .. Erat will miss up to four weeks after injuring his right knee colliding with Arnott on Tuesday night. .. The Red Wings swept Nashville at home for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. .. Paul Kariya's points streak for Nashville ended at six games. Waaaait a second...I thought the assumption was that he will be back before the playoffs, now he's not confident he will? I don't get it. Barrie 900 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 Just as long as we clinch 4th in the Conference atleast, and he's ok for the playoffs. We're doing fine with out him, so no need to rush a return.

Waaaait a second...I thought the assumption was that he will be back before the playoffs, now he's not confident he will? I don't get it. i read that too. this just sucks. i had a feeling when he went out with a sore back it wasn't just a minor thing. hopefully he improves greatly in the next couple of weeks. if he hasn't improved by then, his season may be over. Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 (edited) Not good. When I first heard about the injury, the first thing I thought of was Bertuzzi's back injury. While it isn't the same exact type, back injuries just make me super nervous. I am confused by the mixed messages from the organization. First Babcock said Zetterberg will probably be back before the playoffs and now zetts is saying he isn't so confident. Makes me worried. Rice 42 Report post Posted March 15, 2007 (edited) I'm still wondering if it's his wrist and not his back. I'm hoping it's his wrist and not his back, actually. Cortisone did the job last time and it's only tendonitis. If it were his wrist though, wouldn't he be skating by now? Edited March 15, 2007 by ARice89
