I'm pretty sure Edmonton just won last week over Colorado, if I'm not mistaken...

Crap! You're right. How did I miss that? Still, they are 1-12-1 since February 23 and they got shut out by Nashville 4-0 last Saturday. I'm not too hopeful.

I'm all about home ice advantage.

GO OILERS!

They got absolutely beaten by the Preds in the last game so hopefully they'll want some revenge!

i agree completely

I say go Nashville.

Let them play Calgary.

And let Detroit take their chances on the Wild-Stars-Canucks-Sharks lottery. At least their is one or two teams in that soup that may be a nice matchup for Detroit. Rather that a sure-bet matchup with the Flames, which could end in disaster.

Again, let the Preds have 1st place. For real.

i do not want the Wings to get all caught up facing the nucks or sharks 1st round. that could be some bad news.

id much rather the Wings take the President's and play calgary, a team that i could see them defeating.

that is if calgary makes the play-offs.. (see COL  ?)

I like your point on this. I'm not about go say 'Go Nas*ville' because it's not a part of my vocabulary, but I would prefer to NOT play Calgary in the first round. Kiprusoff seems to enjoy the playoff pressure, and Calgary has an incredible home-ice advantage with their fan base.

This is really a Catch 22 type situation. On the one hand, if Nashville loses, we could get the drop on them and take the division. And the other hand, it means we play Calgary, who I don't think we can beat.

We'll see what happens I guess.

Hope the oilers beat the dead preds.

I do not care who we play in the playoffs because in the past it has shown it does not really matter for a team that can be easily beat.

He won't. That's the last game of his suspension.

 Thanks for reminding me...End of the day and I must of had a case of the brainfarts there for a moment. Oh well...what could have been...

Guess we will have to wait to take him out when it really matter, in the playoffs!

I thought they had won recently. Right after you made your initial post, I stupidly checked NHL.com instead of my normal trusty TSN.ca/NHL and they didn't have a "W" next to the second Avalanche game. Even though, I knew they had won a game in there, I didn't take the effort to find out which one.

zombo pretty much nailed it about the Wings rocking.

I'd however like to see us emerging first if that means we face Flames. not that they were a bad team, but they don't seem to be getting it all done now. and that's not what you'd say about Wild and Sharks. and Canucks with Luongo will be a horror in playoffs, so I definitely say thanks for them

Y'all are funny!!! I think y'all are as scared of us as we are of y'all!!!

Hope our boys focus on Edmonton tonight and get 2 points and worry about the Wings game Thursday after tonights game.

My guess is that this Thursday's game will be the last meeting of our teams for the season because I pity whomever has to play the Sharks in the opening round. They'll beat you down and fizzle in the second round from being too beat up from the first series. Big and strong; but seem to lack enough stamina to get 16 or even 8 wins in the plyoffs IMO.

And I would love NashVegas playing Calgary in the first round simply because those teams dislike each so much. Otherwise I want the Stars if only for the Modano/Tootoo grudgefest of checks and hits that will ensue. Love a story that sells hockey to newbies and grow the sport by whatever means necessary to keep hockey in the South.

I really don't care if we are 1st or 4th... in the playoffs every team starts 0-0 and anything is possible. Every team earned their way into the playoffs and hence every team is going to be tough in the playoffs. BUT.... we have a very good team and I am not scared at all of any team, I feel that if we play our game, we can beat anyone and everyone that comes in the way of our 4th cup in 10 years

0-0 with under 4 left in the first.

Right on!

I feel the same.

I only prefer first for the home ice advantage.

Weber ties it up for Nashville and Hordichuk and Jason Smith has a good scrap, Smith got an instigator and Hordichuk got tossed for a charge.

Hordichuk was tossed for the jersey tie down rule, the charge was only a minor. Just wanted to make that clear before all the inevitable "Hordichuk is dirty and good for nothing like Tootoo!1!!!11!" talk starts up!
