Man, I wish we had a chatroom. Anyone up for IRC somewhere? Let's get something started.

don't worry guys, i'm here.....just getting playoff hockey drunk with some buds :). Great first period, hopefully we can keep this up. The only thing I'm pissed about is that once again, we get Mick Megough as our ref

Oh come on man, no sense in giving up just yet.

I've seen this game before. We'll come back to tie it at 2, then blow it in the 3rd. lol.

No i know its not over at all...just really frustrated at the lack of effort displayed. If we were down 2-0 but played with some emotion I wouldnt be so discouraged.

I actually think the game looks like it's in slow motion. I expected fast skating but it doesn't seem that way so far. I think the wings are definitely playing good positional hockey. I'm glad we got that good bounce for the second goal.

Calgary looks terrible.

Go Wings baby!

alright those who are watching, fill me in, whats the consensus on the 1st period?!?

I thought they looked calm, determined and like a team of veterans, after the first five minutes. Not overconfident, but on their game. I just hope they don't let down at all, just keep doing what they are doing... because I do believe Calgary is not intimidated. They will find some of their game in the second, I expect, so the Wings better stick to the plan = play them consistently, all 60 minutes!!

We were playing great in the battles along the boards...I even noticed Lang skating, catching up, and beating the Flames back on one play. I love it! Go Wings!

This is the part of the year where he actually performs, remember? :D

Wings: a lot of energy and hustle, plus some good luck

Flames: pretty tight in own end, some strong forechecking, but lack the jump and will to win it.

for now we've been outworking them with some margin and you see this on scoreboard.

Keep up the intensity boys! When I looked at our roster yesterday, I realized that guys like Flip, Cleary and Franzen can play hard and chippy when they want, so I figured we could match 'em for that kind of game and we've got some depth... I say: more, more, more...! Even Hank doled out a few...

Was it mentioned yet how nice it is to have a mostly full lower bowl? Even though you could buy tickets at noon today still in row 7, it looks like they got it filled out nicely. Loud too!

Yeah I know, I expected more from the Flames too. But maybe they'll get a little kick on the ass during the break and show up, who knows. Wings were far more aggressive in the first and initiating stuff.

um guys, I hate to break it to you....Sammy's stick was between Lombardi's legs and Lombardi fell over. That will be called EVERY time. Even when McGeough isn't reffing.

Hey put your homer glasses on like the rest of them :P
