Rice 42 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Decent period. It's too bad the Wings couldn't take advantage of one of those powerplays. Lilja and Datsyuk are playing great.
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Hasek looked good, I think we will come out better just because we had to deal with how hard they want this win, we know now
Comrade Zorro 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Alright, hopefully Detroit comes out flying in the second.
Saran 1 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Horrible first period we are making the hockey critics right about Calgary at home. Hopefully we rebound after intermission and destroy them in the 2nd and if we still are tied, we are the best in the 3rd period. GO WINGS GO

Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 We lack composure and we're making too many stupid mistakes. Also, STAY. ON. SIDE.

Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 And I do'nt know what Mc Creary saw but that looked like a good play by Fil. He had his stick on Calgary player's stick...when's that a hook?

arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Wings need to pick up the pace and apply some more pressure to Calgary. We aren't skating playoff hockey out there Agreed. I knew calgary would have that home town boost ... but we need more pressure. Lots more shots ... and some hits.
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted April 18, 2007 OK i know the game is a little frustrating but maybe we use our inside voice and a little less grown up people words OK Sorry. I just can't stand watching Lang. I thought I could put up with it all during the regular season, because he would be different in the playoffs, but h e i s s o s l o w a n d l a z y

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Hasek looked good, I think we will come out better just because we had to deal with how hard they want this win, we know now someone said earlier, that the Wings needed to get out of the first without a goal against in this game. OK, done. Now, how about a couple of goals for??
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Lang is not skating with desire. He was floating in the defensive zone and Calgary got a few good chances because of it.

Vincanni 1 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Easily our weakest period of the series, Bert looks rusty, we keep getting nailed offsides, WAY too many turnovers and despite controlling the puck a lot more than Calgary, nothing close to a great scoring chance. However thanks to some great defensive play and solid goal-tender we're once again reminded why this is a completely different Wings team than Calgary remembers in the playoffs. They thoroughly outplayed us and Iggy even had a wide open shot on the powerplay against us and it's still tied 0-0. I'll wrap that up as a win for us, now let's go do what we did all season long and get better as the game goes on, dominate in the third and leave the Flames in panic come Thursday. Yzermaniac192005 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Not a bad period...not a great one either. Here's hoping the Wings come out flying from the drop of the puck in the 2nd
scotzman 29 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Bert looks off... he needs to throw a few hits. Wings look flat.

Guest DetroitBoy313 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Every game is not going to be a blow out people! You expect to get 40-50 shots on goal everynight?? Calgary is playing for their lives,I expect a tight game. That's the Flames BEST period in 7 periods played thus far.And plus the crowd gave them a little extra jump,I think not scoring on the 4 minute power play really didn't give us much confidence though. We'll win this game. RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) We survived the first period. I expect the tide to shift now to Detroit. Calgary put all that "missing effort" into the first and went away empty handed. I say wings score in second, and get the empty net at the end of the third. Thing for Hasek. Discuss! AtlantaHotWings 1,135 Report post Posted April 18, 2007 Breathe in Breathe out We played AWFUL but are still tied this is a good thing!! Calgary is now going dang what do we have to do.
