They just barely lost this game. We've been playing great overall. I'm sure we will bounce back and do fine. Heck, if Hasek is hot we might not need anyone else to bounce back yet.

GO WINGS!

I totally agree. It wasn't a blowout... players made mistakes that cost us. The team as a whole wasn't on their game, and the Flames took advantage. I posted in the first that the missed opportunity on the 4-minute PP would cost them. They'll learn from that, too.

Some of the boo-boos were weird to see -- like Nick being the catalyst for not one, but two goals by Iginla? That won't happen again. They knew better than to let up on him, but they did anyway. Zata was off... it's allowed, he's human. Dom could have maybe gotten one of the three goals, but not the other two. He will shut them down next game, betcha. ;) Lots of people seem to think Kipper is the second coming, but he's not. He's very beatable, esp. if the right Wings show up. And they will on Thursday.

I never thought they would sweep. This is fine, they will come home to clinch. Wings in 5.

You haven;t won in the Dome in how long...What makes you think you will now...Wings looked like a very sloppy team out there at times...Looking a little frustrated..But with the fans in that building...who could think

This series will be tied going back to the Joe,

Remember when the Flames beat the Wings on March 20 in the dome...that was the start of the Flames 6 game win streak....including 4 on the road.

This win tonight, has given the Flames the confidence and momentum they need to win.....

And Kipper as been fricking amazing...he is so totally on his game...and when he plays like that., he is very hard to beat

Zetterburg as yet to get a point in this series

Datsyuk totally shut down tonight....and the Flames were missing Regehr

Yep they did, find a bone, where the Wings have yet to find one in the dOme :P

hahahah and your first 2 games you lost were because of what??? hahaha where was iggy then??? yeah...and he wouldn't of scored last night if zett wasn;t getting held oh but there was no penalties being called for that agaisnt the wings..but no excuses..we should have detroyed you just like game 1 and 2.

."WE ARE BACK IN IT" i heard that 100 times last night.win one game and you are back in it.. hahahah no your not..all i have to say is..the sun shines on a dogs azz ever now and then. you can;t beat us 5 on 5 and at home so go back to you sad excuse for a forum and chew on that. cause hillbillywingsfan said so.

lets stay positive, some of you may be very doubtful now, but we can easily beat these guys. first 2 games, total domination, 3 game we were in it the whole team despite lang :P and some iffy calls.

Good post. That was Calgary's A+ game, while I would give the Wings a B- (Lang gets a Z).

But I want to see the Wings get back to how they played in games 1 and 2; a great hybrid of puck possession with hard forchecking, dump ins and shooting whenever we get the chance. Ticky-tacky and fancy-pants hockey got us knocked out early the last few years. Game 1 and 2 hockey will give us a shot at the Cup.

All these Flames fans talking trash after 1 win, lots of class you know. I have no problem with the fans that come on here and talk about the game with some class and try and post decent views on the game. As for the Cleary hit, even the CBC commentators said it was a great hit. Ironic that it was Phaneuf that got killed this time. Game 4 is huge, we gotta have this one or else this could easily turn into a 7 game series. I see Hasek bouncing back and playing excellent and it's just going to be a matter of getting some more pucks past Kipper. It's going to be a close one but I think the Wings will come out on top by a goal then take it back to the Joe and wrap it up in front of a loud and crazy full house.

Oh and one more thing: does anyone else find it ridiculously crazy how Calgary is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when it comes to playing on the road versus at home?

Ah. Refs were........I won't even go there........

But - Nick getting burned for the Game Winning Goal? Not sure other teams can count on that happening on a nightly basis. Or ever again?

Anyways..........aloha

WOW.......DaKineMaui is back. I was beginning to worry your island sunk. :P

Psssh. The Panic Meter isn't even that high yet...

Unfortunately I didn't get to see all the game, but from what I saw, the Wings were generally a mess (with the exception of Cleary and Draper) and Calgary was playing extremely well in their own building.

And they won by one goal scored halfway through the third.

The odds of Detroit playing that poorly again, and Calgary managing to play that well again three more times seem pretty low to me.

Last night for the first time we saw the Wings were actually playing an opponent with some heart.

It's the end of the world as we know it....and I feel fine!

I expected Calgary to come out an play hard, and at least take the first of their home games. I didn't expect Nick to get beat like he did, but s*** happens sometimes, and we move on.

Even with some dicey calls and some bad play, we were in the game. Go Wings!

I am not in panic mode yet, but 2nd period of game 2 and the entire game 3 play was FAR LESS than impressive, and not at all series winning.

Babs needs not to bench players who play directly leads to goals. Calling Mr. Dumbass! Are you there?

We need a "stay positive" thread after ONE playoff loss now? Come on, people. Who really expected a sweep? Take a deep breath.

If we lose three in this series, I'll join you.

NOT IN THE THUNDERDOME, YOU WON'T

LOUD, LOUD , my ears are still ringing

When the Flames would get behind. the fans totally rocked that place, and they got right back into the lead.

This is dejavue, of the Wings losing series when being up 2 games

I would be alittle worried

Questionable penalties...imagine that....kind of like the one the Flames were called for in the Joe

The one they missed was the deliberate ELbow to Dions head

Sportsnet reporting the cleary hit was a deliberate elbow to the head

And your wings are such angels

Oh seen big bad bert on Sportsnet......He sure looks like crap, doesn;t look well....and he was pretty well invisable out there tonight

It ain't over yet Baby... It ain't over yet....

But hey - thanks for showing up last night and attempting to stay out of the box and making it a Series... ;)

GO WINGS GO!!!

It's not that ironic. I've seen Phaneuf get destroyed by quite a few people. Someone here has a great gif showing one of the Sedins leveling him when he was coming for the kill.

And Ovechkin totally steamrolled him in the 05 World Juniors. Phaneuf is a big hitter, no doubt, but he's been caught with his head down several times. It's a good thing The Caveman has a shield down to his skirt or else his head would be even more deformed.

And lets all get off the officiating band wagon. These games were won and lost by the teams on the ice. It wasn't the refs that made the Flames look like a Pee Wee team from Mexico in games 1 and 2. And it wasn't the refs that made the Wings look subpar last night.

I'm still not worried. That is the absolute best hockey that the Flames are capable of playing. Think about it - they are on HOME ice (the only place they can win) and their down 2-0 and THAT'S the effort they gave? What a joke. The Wings were at 70% last night. They kick in another 1% and they win that game.

How long have you been around hockey?

You should know by now that Canadians have selective memory when is relates to hockey and world relevancy.
