HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 I don't see how you can fault Hasek in this game.... 2 goals on 5 on 3's, the other one changed direction and he made the saves towards the end to keep us in it.... I'm not blaming Dom, I just don't care for the way he's played. And it wasn't even really necessary for him to wave his stick at Iginla. calfan 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 were you even watching the same game??? They got over 35 shots, a lot of them dangerous. I admit they struggled on the PK and the Flames didn't give them much on the PP. You have to realize that the Flames have an excellent team (at least at home ) and they have improved their game significantly since the Detroit games. Zberg was excellent, you couldn't ask more of Bert after his layoff. The young role players were dangerous. The only thing that didn't work is they didn't win. Yes, the PP and PK are awful, but if not for those bulls*** calls, the Wings would have won the damn game. Calgary blows more than Brian Engblom at 5 on 5 play, and only does their damage on the PP. Sparty13 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 i seriously think the reason the PK blows is because lidstrom schneider lebda arent physical enough in front of the net and lilja and chelios are too slow to move the guys out in front of the net... it seems when you're down a man, you need big guys in front of the net to clear people out right away and their just not getting it done. anyone else agree? Statistically, the team that goes up 2-0 in a series *no matter how games 3 & 4 go* end up winning the series around 90% of the time. If we don't score on the PP next game, kiss that game and the series goodbye I actually get up to pee during our powerplays because I know we won't score! And what scares me is that Calgary now has the momentum and believes they can win this series. I just pray that their road issues continue, otherwise, this series might not end up in our favor (sorry to sound panicy, I am just frustrated & worried). Your comments sound just like the ones we've all been making during the playoffs for the past 5 years. As many have said, these last two games have had an eery familiarity to them. esteef 2,679 Report post Posted April 20, 2007 This s*** is funny. If we don't win EVERYBODY sucked! Some of the calls were questionable yes, but they pretty much went both ways. I still think the Wings skated well and had a lot of chances. Kipper had a great game and they capitalized on their PPs, something we;ve had trouble with lately. Aside from the horrid PK, and PP the Wings have played two fairly good games. They haven't stunk it up at all, they are still hitting, still skating hard, still driving to the net, it's just not going in for them. Blame the refereeing all you want, but the Red Wings are getting their opportunities with the extra man, too.
