I agree too, Lilja has been great these playoffs. He made a great play last night to stop a 2-1 that might have resulted in a goal. I just Babcock doesn't play regulars when Kronwall comes back and puts him back in the lineup. Kronwall has definitly taken my vote as teams most brutal defenseman. But, this topic is not about him. It's about the PAIN TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111. :P

Hmmmm... The article doesn't even mention Train except to say he angled his head perfectly for the re-direct goal against... What's with the title?

Anydangway, I've been so happy and so proud of the Pain Train since his big turn around late this season. He's finally developed into that solid stay-at-home Dman who makes smart plays, uses his big frame, and blocks shots. Now if he can just nail a goal (JUST ONE!) his playoffs will be nearly complete.

Lilja scares me. I think he actually killed that shark that was thrown on the ice last night.............................

:):)

Who do you think threw it out there....THE PAIN TRAIN!

Actually I had an eerie feeling last night that he'd be the GWG hero, but alas, it wasn't ment to be :( He did throw a few pucks on net, so it was possible though!

I'll eat a dozen plates of crow in honor of Andreas. He's easily been one of our best defensemen in this postseason, even outshining Nick during a couple of the captain's rare off-games. He's doing everything out there - hitting, blocking shots and even trying to create offensive opportunities.

I can't blame him for those shots from the point last night that didn't do much; he was being defensively responsible and just trying to get a rebound out of Nabby without too much risk involved. I also can't blame him for the goal scored off his head. That was just a fluky, fluky circumstance, out of his control.

The Pain Train playing spectacular in the playoffs.....

Datsyuk 4 goals in 10 playoff games......

Lang saves the day with a HUGE goal.....

The Wings not eliminated before May.....

I believe these are 4 of the seven signs of the apocolypse, WHAT'S NEXT? I'm ssssscared!

Yeah, I actually didn't read the article until after posting the topic. I just assumed it would be all about Lilja, what with the titlee and all. ;)

Anywho, I'm glad to see him playing so well. He has been great so far these playoffs.

Actually, I thought he should have stood up and blocked it with his face, a la Guerin. Now that would have made me stand up and give him props. As it is, he gets a modest "Atta boy" from me.

I told y'all so. All I need is a goal by Samuelsson and the prophecy is complete.

The universe is into playing HUGE #$&*#$* asdlfkjsdfoio jokes lately, I've concluded, and with Lang pulling these goals out of his ass... it is only time for Andreas to step up his game to the next level. Enforcer-in-training he most certainly is, but he'll get a goal before these playoffs are through, mark you all me. And I bet you're a believer too, Marcus.

And if Offsides could get behind #3... that would simply clinch it. I'm convinced by last night.

p.s. AND, somehow, if all that isn't enough, yesterday I picked up NHL 2K7. Don't laugh, this has terrible meaning. I started a franchise mode after a few quick games, and Robert Lang is my killerrific leading scorer now while the Pain Train is wrecking opponents' lives with open-ice hits left and right.

We have officially stepped into the Twilight Zone, folks.

Does anyone mind telling an ignorant Californian how he became known as the Pain Train? I mean, it's not even phonetic. If anything, it should have been somethink like Lilja The Billiard Table, you know, with an NY accent and a little creativity.

Damn sandbagger!!! Now he brings the pain! WOOOOO WOOOO I think he was trying to headbutt the puck because it got to close to the net. Probably only half then puck went in and he ate the other half! Any video to confirm this?

It's just a lame joke that got started back on March the 26th, when Lilja got into a fight with Travis Moen. Us Wings fans, who don't see many fights anymore except when the Wings aren't involved, didn't know how to react to this, and well, the rest is history. ;)
