gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Let's face it, we've still played one hell of a series and we could've easily have been winning it today. We may be down, but we're not out. This next game will be the ultimate test of our character as we face elimination for the first time in the playoffs. We've been there before and we've come through. Now is the time to show up. Keep your spirits high people.

barabbas16 499 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 i think were toast guys I wouldn't say we're toast....but I do smell something starting to burn. The Wings certainly deserve this series more than the Ducks do. They have played better. It's too bad about that whole.....'luck' thing.

It's hard to recover from a blow like they took with less than a minute today . I don't see them winning game 6 in Anaheim, let's hope I'm wrong. Go Wings (still). gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 I think you can expect a few things...you can expect Dom to play possibly his best game of the playoffs...you can expect that while we may not come out like a bunch of gunslingers and pull a game 3, we probably won't come out any worse than we've been playing, which has still been pretty good. Add it all up, and I'd say it's still anyone's series. These games sans game 3 have been close calls. Yeah, 2 and a row sucks, but the Hasek effect may pay off bigtime in Game 6. Call me optimistic, but I think we've got a great shot at bringing this thing back home for one more. At that point, rinse and repeat because again, heaven knows...a lot of guys on this team have been there before...I'm expecting a huge game out of Hasek and Zetterberg and I'm thinking Lilja will bounce back with a vengence...he's had too strong of a playoffs to get defeated by a play like that...like I said, I'm keeping my head up about this... glasgowcelticwing 18 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 I'm really really disapointed about the score today but I still believe the wings can win this series.
scotzman 29 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 We've played so well in these games, I just can't see us losing 3 in a row. That being said, throughout our recent history (90's - present) we have made a lot of goalies look like world beaters... we need to get some ugly stuff past this Jiggy fool. If we continue to play like we have been playing, improve on the PP and get a few of the Big Names to step up on the road, we'll see a game 7... I still think these guys have what it takes. gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 I don't think anyone can logically suggest that it's over given how close this series has been...I said when we were up 1-0 with a few minutes left in the 3rd that even if we win, it's still anyone's series...it's been so close... Wingsfan1988 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 The Wings have dominated play in the last 3 games....they just need to stay the course. I still believe.
Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Exactly I mean come on, lets look at the finals last year. The Oilers came back from a three to one deficit to force game seven. Granted they didn't win but they still had heart and came pretty damn close. This series isn't over yet there is still alot of hockey left in our club, don't get too down on them too soon. Hell even if we don't make it I won't be down on em' we will have had/we are having a great run this year.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted May 21, 2007 (edited) I can't imagine they can recover quick enough emotionally to win game 6. This isn't 02' Way to be positive and support your team, chump. Why don't you just stop watching now if you have no faith? We did it in '02 with a team of 40-year-olds. We can do it now. i think were toast guys I'll see you on here next season, then--adios. For my part, I'm not going to give up. Deserving/dominating or not, they've blown 2 games in a row now. It's hard to recover from a blow like they took with less than a minute today . I don't see them winning game 6 in Anaheim, let's hope I'm wrong. Go Wings (still). Word, more defeatism. Thumbs down. I don't see why people who call themselves fans waste time coming up with such portends of doom. Edited May 21, 2007 by Crymson
T-Ruff 47 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 (edited) There is tons character on this team, The Wings' know they should have won this game and the Ducks know it too.... They could have been out of this in 4 or 5 games, if they continue to play like this all the Wings need to do is beat Giguere once or twice, because the Ducks have been relying on weird bounces and giveaways for the majority of the series...... I will be disgusted if the Ducks win the series, looking back at the interference goal on Hasek in game 2, the fluke goal of Lidstrom's stick in this game, and the way we've outplayed them 80+% of the time.... It won't happen Edited May 21, 2007 by T-Ruff
WingsWingsWings 3 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 I think the Wings are going to play dedicated hockey in Game 6. Most teams play dumb when they get desperate, but the Wings are known to buckle down. I think they will win Game 6 and then Game 7 will be up for grabs. GO WINGS!!!! DON'T GIVE UP YET!!!!!

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Honestly, I think it's somewhat good that we're in this position. We haven't faced elimination yet and this will be a great challenge. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted May 21, 2007 Game 7. Let's get there. Tough, eh? But they have to come from somewhere. Every Game 7 in history has been the result of a team staving off elimination in Game 6. Easier said than done, but getting to the Stanley Cup Finals was never easy to begin with.
