Yeah, we'll just roll with our other 2 **** RBs if McGuffie goes elsewhere. Hopefully he'll realize that Cal hasn't been to a New Year's Day bowl since the 91 season (January 1992) and come to his senses. Either way, it's an amazing recruiting class for Michigan, especially considering there's a coaching change involved.

I love U-M's class with or without Pryor. We got Feagins so we will see if he can play QB, which I think he can. The LB/OL group is outstanding, and by just adding Shaw/Robinson we got big time speed on offense. Plus Darrel Stonum is coming in at WR, and he will be wearing No. 1 so that already says what he's about.

Just saw OSU signed a QB late. They must be getting scared for the Pryor sweepstakes too.

We need someone who can get the ball accurately to receivers. I think there's a unfair reputation that the QB has to run a 4.3 like Pat White to fit in the system. Maybe that's why Mallet left. I doubt it since he ran the spread in high school. Same with henne and it wasn't surprising to see him excel when they ran it against Flordia. Remember last years recruiting class, we got about 6 four star receivers. I dont know anything about the current QB's on our roster but this might hurt if we don't get Pryor.

Well U-M has Steven Threet, a highly recruited pocket passer from Adrian who transfered to U-M from Georgia Tech last year. He was our No. 2 recruiting target behind Mallett last summer, but since Mallett came we stopped recruiting him. Were lucky he ended up coming here anyway. He will be eligible to play this season.

We also got Justin Feagin today, who many compare to Pat White. Both are short, had trouble throwing the ball out of high school, and can run like a bat out of hell.

If the other 2 QB's have to play (Sheridan/Cone) U-M is screwed!

Rivals ranked Minnesota in the top 20 for football recruiting?! I don't put that much stock into these recruiting websites and whatnot, but that's encouraging after an embarassing season.

You can't put 100% stock into them, because some guys don't pan out, and other low ranked guys become All Americans and/or 1st round picks like AJ Hawk, or Braylon Edwards, but I have followed it very close the last few years, and it's fairly solid.

Minny does have a good class (I heard it was their best in 40 years). Their QB looks like a real player, and Brewster can recruit. He recruited Vince Young to Texas a few years ago.

Oh yeah I remember reading a little blip in a newspaper about his transfer. I remember reading he was a 4-star and was wondering why he would come to UM with Mallet already here. I was like if he wanted to be back in Michigan at least go to state or something.

According to UM's page on scout.com Mcguffe has finally sent in his letter of intent. Anybody got a secondary souce for this? I hope he has, they retained the running backs coach he wanted.

Yes it's true. McGuffie faxed his LOI in about an hour ago to U-M. With the 3 freshmen Shaw, McGuffie, and Robinson we have some scary speed out there!

Good news. When he verbally commited I showed a buddy his youtube video. He's the type of football fan that'll go to the bar to watch games but hit on chicks most of time he's there and probably dosen't know what recruting means but he was impressed and is excited see what he does next year.

I know one of Michigan's recruits brothers, Elliot Mealer. He was just recently paralyzed in an accident that Elliot's dad and girlfriend were also killed in.

Wow you know Brock? I watched a news clip online about them. They seem like great people. I feel horrible for the pastor that ran the stop sign, and killed Elliot's dad/girl friend.

Yeah, Wauseon is the only town near where I grew up with decent restaurants and a Walmart, so I spent a lot of time there.

The accident happened when I was home for Christmas too.

Do you know him personally, or just know of him? Have you visited him? I forgot the site, but sometimes his mom posts reports on him, and yesterday she posted that Brock could feel the blanket on his legs for the first time since the accident. On webistes I've seen pics of him, and he's deck out in OSU gear, but I'm sure that will probably change now because of Elliot.

We weren't close friends or anything, but some of my high school shenanigans were in his company. It was pretty shocking when I heard of the accident.

Elliot was a big (literally) OSU fan too. I guess a full scholarship can change things.

Haven't heard many updates lately, so it's good to hear Brock is making progress.

Pryor takes Michigan and Oregon off his list. Down to Ohio State and Penn State.

Kind of surprising on Oregon. He keeps crossing them out, and putting them back on again. PSU may end up with a steal here because it sounds like his dad, who has some health issues wants him to stay home. That really doesn't make sense though because he doesn't live with his dad, and he hasn't been involved until 2 weeks ago.

This Pryor recruitment is out of control!

big shock there it's down to osu and psu. osu has been recruiting this kid for awhile. michigan and oregon made their push way too late. michigan didn't really make the push till rich came in to michigan. carr was never really going after him because he was looking for mallet to be the starter after henne left. as for psu, it's rare you see big time hs players leave PA to play college ball. joepa can recruit still but that's about it. a lot of big ten fans are trying to figure out what's wrong with the big ten. my opinion is there are too many coaches that have been hanging around. coaches like carr, joepa, tiller, and frentz. carr finally took the hint and retired. i believe tiller is in his last year but joepa seriously needs to go.
