I'm curious what you guys think? Does Drake make the team better than when we had Lang?

Yes he does we know what we are getting with him, lang was good then got here and just sat on his butt

Two different players, two different roles. Drake was not brought in to replace Lang. Filppula on the other hand is being looked at to fill the 2nd line center position.

The real question should be Filppula vs. Lang...who is better?

I'm pretty sure we know the answer there...

Well, both are beyond their prime. Lang was a good goal scorer, and not physical. Drake is not much of a goal scorer, but likes to flatten players, he is fearless.

Drake will bring in more leadership, and keep the other teams looking over their shoulder.

I think that Drake is better defensively too.

With 1/6th the salary of what Lang was getting, I think the Wings are better off.

I like Drake more so Drake for me... eventhough the only comparison you can make is that they are both labled forwards... othere than that they each bring something totally different to the Potluck.

Yup.

Lang.

Or were you saying that a kid who scored 10 goals and 7 assists is better than Lang who scored 19 goals and 33 assists and was +12, just because he looked like he was working harder?

Flip has a lot of potential and can hopefully help fill the second line role, but if we're talking about last season here, Lang was better.

Thats comparing apples to oranges. They don't expect Drake to replace Lang.

If Drake doesn't lead the league in give aways than its an improvement.

How many more goals could The RedWings have scored if Lang could hold on to the PUCK or god forbid, win a face off?

Drake isn't supposed to score he's supposed to BANG HEADS!

Lang is so lazy he's like a negative number and when you subtract a negative, it's actually adding. So therefore, by subtracting Lang, Ken Holland added to our team.

Fillpula is young and will get better every season with experience. Plus Lang got way more Ice time than Flip......and probly shouldn't have.

I love your sig by the way, but doesn't Drake bring back some of that toughness your wanting?

I hope that Drake will make us tougher down low and along the boards.

Lang is lazy and sucks. Yeah he put up points but i think that i young guns, Rex and Fillpula, will put more points then lang did last year.

For what Drake does , yes , no question in my mind.

You can't even compare the two. That would be like comparing Datsyuk to Tucker. Makes no sense.

Harold knows what he's talking about. As always.

I would have to take Tucker is better in this one!

I mean one punch from tucker and dats will be destroyed thus allowing anything Tucker does with the puck as an improvement over the now motionless Dats on the ice... Just sayin' :P

I detest Lang, but must admit he's a better player than Drake. Of course, the Red Wings are better off without Lang than with him, and Drake helps a little, so in that sense we're better off.

I liked Lang , the only thing I disliked about him was the salary he was getting .

Looking at last season with Lang youre going to get 19 goals, a ton of giveaways right up the middle, and basically no physical play. With Drake youre going to get 6 goals and someone whose going to destroy players when he hits the ice. I'll take Drake.
