Donaldjr2448 43 Report post Posted August 12, 2007 Well everyone wanted a rival this year, now we have one. ANAHEIM. I remember how much it hurt to see Colorado hoist the Cup in 1996, and I think everyone remembers what happened in 1997! I really hope we play them again next year in the Playoffs more importantly in the West Final and If I could write a " hollywood script" I would love to win it in Anaheim. Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted August 12, 2007 I think Arnold has a hockey background doesnt he? I heard before he was a star in junior... You know though, when its all said and done and its the end of his days...he's beaten the Predators, held the Stanley Cup, and also held a WWE belt! The truth doesnt lie. Rice 42 Report post Posted August 12, 2007 Rob Niedermayer's "goal" on Hasek to force OT, anyone? Scott's goal, followed up by Selanne's in OT? The comeback at the end of Game 6? Ugh, it hurts to think about it.

Yeah, but he was very barbaric in his playing days. I much preferred the clutch goaltending of Jean-Claude Van Damme, who never gave up any Sudden Death overtime goals in his career. Ugh, it hurts to think about it. It was as if the Wings knew they were gonna come back. They had a interview with Lidstrom during the 2nd intermission and he was super calm, mentioning what they had to do in the final period and wasn't hesitant at all. You gotta respect him! Even though the wings did not come back it was damn close, if it were not for Getzlaf and his 3rd period goal.....

Yeah that Van Dam, he seemed to block everything from getting through! But i'll never forget that night Jean-Claude turtled though, hockey turned into a real bloodsport that night... redwingfan19 293 Report post Posted August 12, 2007 Yeah Cory perry brought the cup to my town like 2 days ago and he's such a tool, he took it to some greasy bar downtown of all places and only let his friends and former and current knights players go to see it. You would think after all the support and time Cory Perry spent in London he would let some of the fans see it and "Give Back" a bit to the loyal Knight fans and such. Just really shows how low class Cory Perry really is.

I really hope we play them again next year in the Playoffs more importantly in the West Final and If I could write a " hollywood script" I would love to win it in Anaheim. I don't know how much of a rivalry there will be, atleast in a physical, heavy-checks-and-fighting-often sort of way. Two of our three most physical players now play for Anaheim, and the third is still a free agent. In addition, the Wings collectively aren't one to hold a grudge, whether that be for being beaten in the Western Conference Final, or for cheap-shotting Homer in a last resort, desperate move. As much as I hate that, its just the way it is. And now theres the whole drama with Edmonton thats eclipsing us. I think their team would be more willing to get physical in their games than us. Bottom line: However much I would love to see the Wings find a new rival, Anaheim most likely isn't going to be it. Atleast not this year. Also, I like Arnold, and he looks like hes in his prime holding the cup. If only he was saving the world from the apocalypse by bashing it over some robot's head. And this year if we make the finals, we can have.... Eminem and Granholm at the game!

lets go pavel 2 Report post Posted August 13, 2007 Well of course people will bleed. It's not played by Cyborgs. Actually to me, the consumate hockey player has to make the team hard to kill, but doesn't feel like he's above the law. He maintains composure under siege, so that standing on the ice never feels like standing on deadly ground. He's not afraid to make an executive decision on the ice, and when you look in his eyes you can tell he's got that fire down below. Of course I'm talking about the glimmer man himself ...
