I jinxed it. Orr decided to play nice :(

I think it's what they call the "new NHL". By the way, did anyone see that gutless ***** Iginla fight last night wearing a visor during the whole fight. Why doesn't he wear a football helmet with thorns sticking out of it while he's at it.

Not sure if it's been posted but.

What hockey used to be. You mess with Stevie once. Probert gives you a warning. You mess with him again. Probert beats you into oblivion. I like how he just flat out punches the goalies helmet off.

Did anyone just see the Eager-Roberts bout? Easily one of the best I've seen all season. Tons of huge shots being thrown, and a solid amount of connections. PHI is winning 5-2 and Eager came into the boards (with an elbow up) at Laraque. They were broken up pretty much right away given that they were practically on top of each other after the initial hit. The reffing crew missed the elbow, and just gave Laraque a double minor. After that was all said an done, Roberts came to Laraque's "defense" and fought Eager. Great bout.

I'll post the link tomorrow when it becomes available.

Sidenote: The score is now 6-2, with Lupul having a point on every single goal. The latest goal completed his hat trick.

Hell of a night for him.

Yeah,I saw it. Great bout,no question about it.

I was very impressed with Roberts there!

He hasn't been scoring much, that might have been his best "play" of the season.

Lupul is having a career game, thank God I took him into my fantasy team just yesterday.

What is with Boston announcers and fight calls? Gotta love him saying at the start of the Lucic/Boll fight.."This is a legitimate heavyweight battle!" Um....no. I understand the job of the announcers is to pump up the homers, but my god, B's announcers have been horrible since i can remember.

This one was a from a few nights back, good fight between a couple middle/light heavyweights that features a head butt at the end

That got me thinking about one of the best fights ever:

Hah, I noticed that also. Both of them are pretty big guys (Boll is 6'3 or something, and Lucic is 6'4 and almost 250 pounds) but neither of them qualify as heavyweights. Especially Boll, because he's not a very good fighter at all.

Boll doesn't impress me much. He's starting to become a punching bag out there, because he's getting in all these fights, but not winning any of them. Heck, Downey pretty much had him beat, and Downey just got done with a long shift while Boll just got on the ice (Lou, you will debate that, but I can't give credit to Boll in that fight. The homer Blue Jackets announcers gave hime more credit than he deserved). I admire his cander for leading the NHL in fighting majors at this point in the season, but he needs to start winning some fights. He's reminding me a lot of Brad Ference back in the 2001-2002 season: starts a lot of fights, but loses all of them.

But... if the Wings surprised me and got him, he'd definitly be a favorite of mine. :P

I dont feel that way about Boll. I dont think he's a bad fighter at all actually. He's got some wins, and his fights are usually wild and entertaining as hell. Ference used to get pounded all the time, I dont see that with Boll at all. Keep in mind he's only 21 years old too...he's only going to get better as he gets stronger. The Downey fight is a win with an asterisk because of the shift reason, but its still a win for Boll over a borderline heavy nonetheless. The more i see him, the more he's becoming one of my favorites. It doesnt get much more entertaining than this guy. If he's not fighting, he's running someone over...i love guys like that.

Oh, I think he'll get better. No doubt about that. He hasn't overly impressed me at this point is what I'm saying.

Plus: note that part about me wanting him on the Wings. I'd definitly love to have a guy like that, since it's a resource we have so little of. Downey is the only guy who brings that element of play to the Wings, which means they more players like that.

He has room for improvement, but I'd definitly like to see him here. :)

I don't know if it's been posted yet, but this was awesome. The team in the color jerseys were just chasing the other guys around the ice. By the end of it they were even pacing back and forth in front of the other teams bench waiting for more victims to step on the ice. This rocked.

If Crosby has to fight, then Laraque isn't doing his damn job well enough.

I hear ya, but I dont think Laraque can really be criticized for this one. I think Crosby was looking to get into a fight with somebody eventually no matter what...as evidenced by having Laraque give him pointers in practice.

Det#1fan - Just curious as to how you scored the Wings fights. I have Kopecky at 1-0 with the win over Sharp. Lilja at 0-0-2 with the 2 crap draws with Begin and Phaneuf. Drake at 1-2-1, with a win over Burish...losses to Mayers and Wisneiwski, and a draw with Perry. Aaron Downey i have 1-1-3 with a win over McLaren, a loss to Boll, and 3 draws with Shelley, Davison, and Fedoruk. All total i have the Wings at 3 - 3 - 6. Im assumiming maybe you gave Drake the win over Perry?

That shows you what a great fighter Lilja is. He hasn't even thrown a punch in 2 fights, yet he hasn't been beaten yet. Pure dominance.
