And there it is!

Win Boogaard on first viewing.

I'd have to agree. King's best punches came before Boogaard even dropped the gloves. Boogaard clearly dominated the 2nd half of the fight. I was surprised that King didn't get the instigator, though.

Win Boogaard. King did good early on, but Boogaard dominated the 2nd half of the fight clearly.

The other one i'd question is Ivanans, i think he's on the lower tier of the heavyweight spectrum.

I like Ivanans a lot personally. He's a mildly skilled player so he'll be able to keep a roster spot, and he had some good fights last year against guys like Boogaard and Parros.

I don't know why Holland didn't sign him. He is a European, after all. :P

He lacks any "team toughness"

Watching the Minnesota feed, the first replay I've seen, the Boogaard-King fight is not so clear cut. King landed punches early, for some reason Boogie didn't lose his equipment right away. He looked to be cut from one of King's punches. Boogaard definitely took over the fight from that point forward, but his punches didn't seem to do any major damage. I'm inclined to call it a draw, King early, Boogaard late.

I was watching that, Gill and Bell came over as did Dubinsky and Strudwick, I was hoping for a warm-up brawl lol.

Tucker and Avery just went, they got out of the box and Tucker hit Avery, Avery got up Tucker asked him to go and they had a decent fight.

Sydor vs. Ruzicka

Good fight here from a few nights ago. I give it a draw, but a lot of credit goes to Ruzicka in this one. He's not normally a fighter, but he did get in some great shots in the beginning with the right hand.

Smith and Malone also fought in that same game, but I found that fight to be pretty lame. Smith basically got in a few early punches and Malone fell over pretty quickly.

Tonight's game featuring San Jose and Phoenix should have a few good tilts. Daniel Carcillo is currently leading the league in PIM, and is currently in a 7-way tie for the lead in fighting majors with 5. I'd like to see him go against Doug Murray, since he seems to be a pretty willing fighter this season also.

Sidenote: disregard the fact that the video I posted above is in French. I don't know why it is, but that's the only video I found of it.

I was bored tonight, so I decided to watch a bunch of Wings brawls from the past, and found some I havent seen before.

Willy and Booter against the Isles

I was VERY surprised to see Willy go after Blake.

Blues Brawl 03 Part 1

Blues Brawl 03 Part 2

Pretty good brawl, we obviously didnt win it, but it was cool seeing Drapes fight, and Robataille pick up for his teamates

Against the Preds

Good Ole' Cheli

Wings/Avs 98 Brawl

OZZIE, OZZIE, OZZIE!

92' Brawl with the B's

Probert is the man. Stupid Bruins fan punching Stevie.

Wings/Blues 92'

Chevy and CuJo

Pre-season 94 against the Hawks

McCarty's first fight as a Wing. Stupid Hawks :yowza:

Avs/Wings 90's

Kocur goes right after Messier and nails him, haha. Claude Lemieux is a dirty f*** man, not only does he go after Kozlov of all people, he uses his stick as a weapon. I was hoping Rouse would kick his ass.

I miss this stuff, maybe with Kopecky, Drake, Downey, Ference, Keefe and Lilja in the line-up we'll have another bruhahah :D

Bell really got his ass beat in that fight. He was actually looking at the linesman to break up the fight.

This Lucic kid is off the charts good. Since the Wings love to draft Europeans, why can't they draft players like him? Guys with loads of offensive talent, yet are also tough enough to defend themselves and their teammates. They could have drafted him that year, but chose Shawn Matthias instead (who they traded anyways, which makes it a total wash).

I didn't have a chance to catch any games tonight. Any other good fights of note?

Lucic is going to be tremendous player for the Bruins for many years to come. He is already a fan favourite there and he is only 19 years old. He is exacty my kind of player.

Riley Cote and Colton Orr had an absolute slugfest last night. It was a great fight, tonnes of punches thrown and landed. Two of my favourite fighters going at it with their wide open old school style. Love it.

Check it out

Gotta hand it to Cote, he doesnt seem to win very often but he puts on a show every time out! Takes balls (and a very hard head) to fight completely wide open like that against someone like Orr. Tough kid!

He's Canadian born, but is of Slovakian descent.

I guess, though, since he was raised in Canada that he technically is Canadian. But whatever the case, the guy is going to be a tremendous hockey player in the near future.

On a related note: Lucic is actually the nephew of former NHL defenseman Dan Kesa. I remember Kesa from his days with the Detroit Vipers in the IHL.

Boston-Philly has been as advertised, lots of chippiness. Bunch of cheap shots by the Flyers, particularly a check Scott Hartnell finished on Alberts when he was on his knees playing the puck along the boards, checking Alberts' head into the dasher.
