I wouldnt put it passed Brashear to be a little afraid of McGrattan...it sounds stupid given that he's still the #2 fighter in the league imo but Brashear is weird like that. I remember a fight way back where he was owning McCarthy early on, but spent the second half of the fight backpedaling from him in what looked like total cowardice. Once Sandy got an intense crazed look on his face Brashear took tail and ran basically.

EDIT: McCarthy jersey also ripped off at the time Brashear ran, but still...no excuse for that other than fear.

I still don't think he's afraid, though. I remember a few years ago Brashear turtled against Dingman in the playoffs. Do you think he was afraid of Dingbat? Of course not, he could have torn him to shreds if he wanted to. You're right about him being weird at times, but that isn't fear, it's just Brashear pissing off fight fans like he always likes to do.

Oh Im just talking about right now, not in the future. Theres a misconception going on that Lucic is one of the better fighters in the league at this point in time because he's looked good in so many of his fights...and also that he's a heavy. He's just not at this point is all im saying. The 2 heavies he's fought he's lost to.

Oh, well yeah, he isnt champ now, or a heavyweight. Still pretty entertaining for a middle weight though.

I have no problem with the argument he's not afraid of anybody. He's the #1 or #2 fighter, no question. It's a toss up between him and BGL. But when a tough guy like him is turtling, let's not get carried away and say it's just because he's weird or could tear the guy to shreds if he wanted to but just decides not to. It's because he's lost the fight. Everyone loses sometimes, even the best fighters.

Tucker got murdered towards the end...i didnt know whether to wince at the sight of him eating right after right while helplessly attempting to throw back, or to just laugh. I laughed.

He's hard to figure out. Running from McCarthy that time is really the thing that continues to stick in my head over the years. I dont know, maybe the guy got bullied around alot as a kid and its what inspired him to become a fighter. And occasionally, the scared part of him resurfaces. Yes, thats it. Ive solved the mystery that is Donald Brashear. ;)

How pathetic is Tucker in that fight against Ruutu. After this, Tucker should never drop the gloves again.

Don't worry: unless it's Sean Avery or Patrick Eaves, he won't even think about it.

Lou: Malone is in the center of trade rumors all the time (along with Colby Armstrong). He'll probably be traded at some point, but I seriously doubt it'll be here.

Of course not. He's North American and he's over 6'3. No chance he ever cracks the Wings lineup.

:D

Well, maybe if he was an old washed up loser that they could get for nothing, then maybe they'd bring him in. But, since he's not, I think we can assume the big trade deadline deal this year will be Fedorov. He fit's every catagory Holland looks for: he's old, soft, european, a former Red Wing, and they can probably get him for dirt cheap. That's basically become the standard around here anymore. ;)

Yeah, i know...its a shame though cause i think he'd a perfect fit to throw on the 2nd line. The top 6 is definitely in need of some muscle. Adding Malone (giving up Hudler for him is fine by me as ive said in previous posts) and a bigger physical defenseman, not necessarily a guy fights alot, just someone who plays a meaner style than what we've got, and i'd be damn happy.

Yeah that was so great. Ruutu was suppose to be the underdog. But ends up totally beating the piss out of Tucker. Wow. Seriously, I think Ruutu landed about 15 shots to Tucker's head.

Tucker got embarrassed big time.

I know...beating Jason Smith was a pretty big upset in my eyes...now TKO'ing Bell? Maybe Malone is juicing...someone check his helmet size!

I think Ruutu was the favorite actually. He's not just your typical disturber, he's pretty damn tough and wins alot more often than he loses. Tucker fights passionately, but he's not very good at it.

I don't know where this came from out of Malone. I didn't see signs he could fight like this even a few months ago.

Crosby has inspired the whole team to fight better. First Malone, then Ruutu. Pretty soon we'll see Malkin KO someone in a fight.

I'm watching the Leafs/Ducks game and I think this might be a goon fest. Kubina threw a questionable check on Perry and Bertuzzi and O'Donnell came over and O'Donnell started pounding on him. Not really a fight because Kubina turtled. I thought it was kinda funny though during all that Tucker and Schnieder both have there gloves on and are just having a nice little talk.

HOW?

Ruutu won the fight, but Tucker was embarressed? not at all...

First of all Ruutu was not the underdog, he had 2 inches and 20 pounds on Tucker and that's being generous, and he's an underrated fighter and has won more than he's lost for sure.

Tucker gave it his all and he received more than he gave but he still landed his fair share, he was cut open but did he return to the game? yeah.. Tucker will go toe to toe with guys much bigger than himself, win or lose that's not being embarressed. Taking those rights and staying on his feet just makes me respect Tucker so much more, what a heart and soul guy (when he wants to be), wish we had him

How about the "PAIN TRAIN" last night with another dominant win. Neil wanted no part of that. Is Lilja ever going to find anyone who's actually willing to throw with him instead of grabbing him and hanging on for dear life? Lilja's just like Twist and Kocur in that he can't find any takers. After seeing that monster right hand that he unleashed on Neil, now I know why he's so feared. :D

Hartnell is a willing combatant and all, but he's a crappy fighter. He should be dominating guys like Jokinen and Zednik.

Hartnell has never been a big fighter. To me, he's almost like Jordin Tootoo, except he's bigger, can score more goals, and is willing to fight a little bit more. Tootoo, though, is a better fighter.

It surprises me that Trotz doesn't allow him to do that, since Tootoo can actually hold his own with some pretty good fighters when he has to. I wonder how Downey would fare against Tootoo, since Ken Daniels always teases me into thinking they'll go at some point when we play Nashville.
