theman19 47 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 That when Franzen comes back, our team is going to look better on the ice. I just checked the GDT and Kopesky is on the second line,...gag. I know he's not the rebirth of cam neely or anything, but i think he could pot in 20 and maybe jump start flip too.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 Does anyone else think? What kind of egocentric question is that? Franzen being back in the lineup will be a good thing, but particularly so if we can send down Kopecky in the process. I would really like to see the 2nd and 3rd lines feature Draper, Cleary, Franzen, Sammy, Filppula, and Hudler. Leave Maltby, Ellis and Drake on the bottom line and the top line intact. If Franzen is the one to join the Junior Euro Twins, then yeah I definitely think hell jumpstart them. Kopay is really bringing that line down.

WingWarrior25 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 does anybdy else think that spelling is an asset KOPECKY I think spelling is about as important as meaningful, intelligent posts. It doesn't seem like either are very important to you.
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted October 20, 2007 I don't see the problem with Kopay being on the second line. He's been playing pretty good the last couple games. Plus I think Babs is trying to light a fire under Huds by demoting him to line 4 and bumping Tommy up.

It's only his second year in the league, he got injured early last season, he's in his early/mid 20s. I'm not anticipating him to be a consistent 20-25 goal scorer throughout his career but he could be a decent filler/3rd line type guy as he tries to establish himself in the NHL. He needs playing time to do that, and it's not like he's getting 25 minutes a game. Let's be patient and quit overreacting on him for crying out loud and see what the kid can do, he hasn't even played a full season of NHL hockey yet

Plus I think Babs is trying to light a fire under Huds by demoting him to line 4 and bumping Tommy up. If Hudler is playing on the 2nd line, then why is he still getting so much ice time? That 2nd line needs to benched, demoted, traded, or something. They are absolutley useless out there. Hudler especially, because if he's not scoring, he's terrible. He's too small, and has no defensive game at all. He's wasting a roster spot right now. Filppula is also playing terrible hockey. There, now that the cat's out of the bag, it's time we discuss how badly he's played. For a guy coming in and was expected to play a part on the 2nd line, he's been downright awful so far. 0 points in 8 games? What is going on? Kopecky... ugh. I don't even want to discuss him anymore. This team needs 2nd line help, badly. It isn't going to come from any of those three either, unless they get their s*** together soon. As much as it burns my tounge to say this, and destroys my principles, we need Samulesson back in the lineup. I'm thinking it's about time to give someone in GR a lot. Perhaps Grigorenko. At this point, it's doubtful that Holland is going to make a move, so we might as well look from within.

He's more suited for 3rd and 4th line duties at least at this stage in his career he is.

Flip-check 6 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 whats to stop chris chelios from thinking? Chris Chelios doesn't think. He has pre-cognitive visions. He already knows that a Sedin twin will go through the glass near the Vancouver net on Wednesday.
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted October 22, 2007 i like kopecky, i can see him as a good power forward for us in a couple years i also like Kope. i think mid season he will learn alot from the otehrs and throw up 15 goals.. 30 points-ish, and be a stuf in playoffs.. He just needs time to get acclimated to NHL hockey. The change from ahl to nhl is big to alot of people. and he is still getting his feet wet. look at his previous stats in previous leuges he has been solid. now he just has to make the transition just like Flip and Hudler do. they have a big load to carry for being so young. 20-30 Games in, you will nottice the change unless he gets benched earlier.
