Sadly the Bruins are doing worse attendence-wise than the Wings.

Only 10,290 or 55.3 percent full. Is it time to contract the O6?

...it looked like Chara killed him, but that is exactly what happens when you hit the helmet. The helmet did the damage, Chara did nothing. you can see chara checking his hand as he skated toward to p-box. Kudos to the guy for standing in there after getting cut by the helmet...

Chara cracks him a couple times square on the face as well

Well another Boston team kind of had an "important" game tonight too I guess. Im sure no one else in Boston cares about that other team though.

The idea of relocating an O6 team to southern Louisiana probably gives Bettman a giant boner...if he had his way we'd see such hockey powerhouses as the Baton Rogue Bruins and New Mexico Canadiens.

Chara seems to hurt his right hand rather frequently during fights...too strong for his own good perhaps. It might also help if his signature move wasn't delivering full-force blows to the helmet.

Boston is a great hockey town however the Red Sox are in the ws and Jeremy Jacobs has done everything he can to alienate fans. That combo spells low attendance. Maybe he will keel over before long and their fans can finally have their team back! Of course I would rather see him sell.

He didn't get cut by the helmet, Chara re-broke his nose for him.

Koci broke his nose 3-4 days ago in a fight, the coach ask him to go out there anyways and do what he does.

The announcers were saying that when he broke the nose the first time it was on the other side of his face. Which doesn't make sense because your nose isn't on one side or the other to begin with. Maybe he meant the other side from the one Chara just put it on.

You can see Chara land a rather routine punch to the face and Koci started bleeding profusely, but kept fighting for a minute or so more. The refs knew something was wrong and once the action slowed they stepped in.

That shows some testicular fortitude though to be out there with a recently broken nose, go after Shawn Thornton, who he was trying to pick a fight with, and you end up eating a 6'9" punch to an already broken nose!!!

Chara went to the locker room right away shaking his hand, I didn't see the rest of the game because the World Series had started, so I didn't hear how the hand is but he definitely threw some helmet knockers that is for sure.

That wasn't blood. It was chocolate syrup with red food coloring. Boston is looking for an attendance boost and is resorting to pro wrestling tactics.

Seriously. Some guys are just bleeders and a bloody nose ends up looking like an axe murder. That was a mess.

And you thought Chara couldn't fight

I still don't that was a rather average punch that re-broke a guy's nose.

I didn't say he couldn't fight, as in he never does it, he just isn't a great fighter.

Besides dude that was a one punch fight. I know Chara threw more than one punch, but once that one hit Koci in the nose he was done fighting.

Glad to hear that Chara made it back to the bench.

Yeah that was definitely NOT the helmet that exploded his face... Chara caught him square in the face and his already previously broken nose... exploded it a red fountain.

Bloodiest fight i have seen in a long time... blood on everything and everyone. Daaaaaamn!

Koci (sp?) while remained up right was done after his face exploded... he was basically holding on... I give him kudos just for staying upright after the punch... damn dude knows no pain!

He broke a guys nose that was broken less than a week ago. It didn't take a Mike Tyson punch to break his nose.

He threw a solid punch but it wasn't even an upper cut, it was a straight right that didn't have much wind up to it. The hardest punch Chara threw hit Koci in the Helmet.

And I am not saying I would want to get hit with it, but that was not a huge punch from a guy like Boogard, that is what I meant by average.

to everyone saying it was his nose:

re-watch the video, the blood is form his forehead

I watched it again. It's from his nose.

As the announcers say, he's fighting with a broken nose. You can see after a punch Koci grabs his nose and blood is pouring out. It was just smeared all up his face and forehead.

I understand Koci's the enforcer for Chicago, but its not like Chicago couldn't have sent out either Vandermeer or LaPointe to handle the rough stuff for a minute while the guy let his broken nose heal. I can only hope he and Chara willingly had a go at it.

Good for Koci for going out there and doing what he does anyway. He defies the stereotype that Euros are soft and aren't fighters. I hope to see him back in action for the Hawks sooner than later.

Agreed. Koci had his nose broken just two games ago.

With it being broken that recent, hell I could rebreak his nose with a punch. Basicaly it's still broken at that point.

Also, did you hear them saying how when Dave Lewis was coach he told Chara not to get in any fights?

Figures.

I would have guessed forehead just because of the amount of blood. I'm not sure how many people have seen it, but when someone gets stliced a little on the forehead (even just a little gash), blook will gush like you wouldn't believe. I will then all of a sudden stop. I was playing a game and the other goalie got hit in the face with the puck (facemask I should say). Anyway, somehow he got cut and hit entire head was just covered in blood. After a few minutes, it stopped and he resumed playing the game.

Anybody who's watched wrestling over the years knows that too!

What's to stop Chris Chelios from causing opposing goalies to gush blood from their foreheads?
