To me Avery is one of the most entertaining players in the league. I screamed and bitched when we traded him,.... i also really wish he was still here.

Wrong Olsen...he is being linked to Mary Kate, Ashley is being seen with Lance Armstrong. I guess they like athletes!

Hold on a sec, Ashley has been seen with Lance? Isn't Lance in his 40's? I don't really have a problem with age differences with couples, but if the guy is old enough to be her father or visa versa, that's to much.

Yeah that does seem pretty crazy. Maybe Lance strong-armed her into a date...

Always been a huge Aves fan. He's not dirty he's just an agitating, little pest. And there is nothing wrong with that! He does his job and does it well. Ever since he's toned it down he's shown that he's actually pretty damn talented as well. Atta boy, Sean.

Avery has more Gordie Howe Hatricks (3) than Gordie Himself. Last one was 2 goals, an assist, and a fight with Darcy Tucker (that little f*****). You'd think the Wings could find a spot for a guy like that.

Whatever. I dated Ashley Olsen BEFORE she was famous.

I remember when Avery first started out how bad of a fighter he was. He was still great regardless though because every time he stepped on the ice something notable seemed to happen. Either he drew a penalty, threw a nice hit or two, or got in a fight! His fighting ability has come a long way over the years, not that he's great at it mind you, but he can definitely handle himself pretty well with the middleweights.

He uber-pwned Tucker tonight.

I would take Aves back in a heartbeat. Im so sick of people complaining and whinning about this guy. Avery just sits back and laughs at everyone getting pissed at him. He relishes in it. And yet guys like Tucker ***** and moan about him. But they're the ones letting Avery get under their skin. Avery does it on purpose. Cause he knows its gonna get a few guys off their game. And ya know what? It works. More power to Avery for constantly contributing to his teams success in one way or another, (or in all ways) like tonight, where he gets and assist, scores a goal, and drops the gloves all in one fight(Which led to a Rangers victory). Anyone who wouldnt want Avery back in the Winged Wheel are just in denial.

And he'll do whatever he can to help the team win. Did ya see him tonite in front of the net screening on the power play?

Former Wings team up to score all the goals to beat Toronto. Shanahan from Avery, then Avery, then Shanahan in the shootout.

Cherry's main complaint was that the Leafs didn't dress Belak. He gave credit to Avery for getting the Leafs' best player (this is highly debatable) Tucker in the box for 5 minutes. I think his rant was more aimed at the instigator penalty.

Avery is a good hockey player, and he's curbed his biggest weakness, which was committing dumb penalties without taking someone else with him to the box. But I think some of the sideshow stuff he does is more aimed at drawing attention to himself than helping his team. Remember, the L.A. Kings let him go, and teams don't jettison talent for no good reason at all. Also, the things he says probably do cross the line at times, especially the racial slurs. It wouldn't surprise me if his last game in the NHL is the result of some kind of retribution from another player, and that won't be good for hockey if that's how it goes down, with the inevitable attention it will draw from the national media.

He has improved as a fighter. And he's an important part of the line he plays on, not bad at all.

Honestly, I still resent Avery for trying to go after Cheli on a number of occasions after we got rid of him. Not that Cheli wasn't probably asking for it...but that's just me. Avery is okay, but I don't miss having him on the wings, yea he has things that make him an asset, but he isn't someone I would like to have during the pressures of playoff Hockey. Imagine him against the Flames or Ducks last playoffs. Sure, he'd exact some revenge, but it'd be the kind that would leave us a skater short for lengthy periods of time. To me, the real revenge is winning the game, and nobody can ensure that from the confines of the penalty box.

That being said, comparing Avery to Philly is rude, because Philly has just been lame. There is no dignity in what they have done this season with the cheap hits and such. At the very least Avery is willing to face off 1v1 with anyone in the league, and I'll always respect that.

Maybe you aren't old enough to be her father. If you were, you might think differently. I do! :P

Was watching the Leafs/Rangers game on HNIC last night...Avery in the pre-game warm up is messin' with Tucker, & Blake; few shoves are made/verbal lashings/etc/etc before players from both teams seperate the 2...Later in the 1st period Tucker, & Avery have a good scrap (neither had the upper hand although Avery did grab ahold of Tucker's pants, & took him down to the ice).

Later in the 1st intermission Tucker was interviewed, & he called Avery a "classless" player

That's because Avery was lipping Blake about having cancer.
