Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Believe me, I can definitely understand that. For the areas not getting NHL Network, this is like Versus take two. I just like the fact that I got to see some postgame for a change... That would be a better name for it--Versus2: The Deuce!

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Very sloppy game tonight, especially in the 3rd. Luckily Ozzie came to play and definitly pulled the Wings ahead. He was, in my opinion, the player of the game. Disappointed there wasn't a Downey - Tootoo fight, especially seeing them going at each in the 2nd. I'd like to see him in the lineup Friday, and go at it with someone like Boll or Curtis Glencross (not Shelley though, since Shelley would probably rip Downey apart). Glad the Wings won tonight, but by far not their best effort. Great game by Ozzie, though.

Shockwave180 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Nice to win a shootout for a change. I still hate it, though. We really didn't deserve two points tonight with our third period performance; a draw would've been a fair result in my opinion. But well-done Ozzie; again, if there's gonna be a shootout, we better win it. And we did.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Zetterberg and Datsyuk bailed us out tonight, good game for everybody, a sloppy 3rd, but like the Edmonton game, we found a way to win.
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Just got back from the game. The Wings dominated for so long, hard to believe it went to a shootout. I thought the top line was pretty gassed in the third period. I haven't checked a boxscore yet, but it seemed like they (along with Lidstrom) were on the ice all night long. Osgood played really well. I was hoping for a Downey-Tootoo dance. Downey asked Tootoo to go but Tootoo declined.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Why? Because he's trying to get Tootoo to stop negatively contributing to the team by taking stupid penalties.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 That's what Tootoos game is though ... run around the ice, challenge someone to fight, cheap shot them and fight with his visor on (Im glad he took it off).

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 I guess that's why Trotz wants him to stop. I still love seeing him getting his ass handed to him in a fight, but I guess we wont be seeing that anymore.
2probert4 8 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Well, feels a little more like a big one this morning, but still doesn't match what it used to be. I hope yall aren't getting too jacked up to see something happen with Tootoo. oh yeah... The Red Wings STILL SUCK! Downey tried to get it going with him twice, but Tootoo wasn't on the radar much in this game. But I hope that youre not going to sink into the depths of Section 303 with that remark... HAHA j/k but they should save that SUCK word for the Volunteers and Vince Young's passer rating ....

auxlepli 17 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 dats shootout goal was a beauty! Yes. I liked Zetterberg's better though. He stopped Mason cold with his fake. Sweet goal. Also kind of a sad note, there were no Hits highlights.
interminded 1 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Good to know, the Wings can win mediocre games as well. Shootout or no shootout... we won ! OZZIE OZZIE OZZIE OZZIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ! !!!
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 My thoughts on the game: * We played very well for the first two periods and were unlucky not be more than two goals up. Despite matching their shot total I thought we were totally outplayed in the third and we seemed to lose a little energy. * I know it’s a minor thing but how Jiri Hudler got the 1st start is beyond me. Yes he had a goal and an assist but his assist was due to Flip and Cleary and his goal was a huge stroke of luck. Good for him for being in the right place at the right time but Dats, Hank and Cleary all had stronger games. After seeing the game it’s easy to understand why stats can be so misleading. Dats came away pointless and yet I felt he was the best player on the ice. He is so unbelievably crafty and the amount of times he takes the puck away from the opposition is amazing. What a superstar. * I thought none of our defensemen were all that great. Did anyone else feel that Rafalski had a poor game? I thought he turned the puck over quite a few times which lead to scoring chances for the Preds. Lilja had a strong OT but my word he was TERRIBLE out there. Just so careless and it was no surprise that he was -2. Surely one of these days it’s time for Quincey? * Osgood was brilliant. Some of those saves were tremendous including his stop on Radulov in the SO. Good to see the crowd giving him a lot of support. * Zetterberg to go all season long scoring at least a point. NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted November 8, 2007 Well, I'm glad I missed the final 8 minutes of the third period, but I'm pretty pissed I didn't get to see the game. That was the first time in 3 years I wasn't able to watch a Wings game. Thanks Time Warner. Anyway, I caught the highlights and those SO goals were great. It was so nice to see Dats go back to the deke after keeping the last two SO goalies honest. Zets freeze was even better. The second Z pulled the puck back Mason was screwed. why, so he can focus on cheapshots?
