Opie 308 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Too Early??? I am pumped about the Game on Feb 2nd in Beantown, I am 4 rows of the ice in the corner, the end the wings will be shooting at twice!!! So I guess I would say it is almost too late to get pumped (j/k). Enjoy the game hopefully the team is playing hard and ready to avenge their loss.
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 Since there are no games until Saturday, it's definately not too early to get pumped for the game....especially since you are making the trip. Of note though, I think the Wings still OWN the division, too early to suggest Chicago is going to give them a run for the title (though they might). I think it appears that way since the Hawks have their number so far this year, but the Wings still have a very healthy lead and there is no reason, yet, to think they won't win the division easily again. FinRedWing 172 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 It's not too early at all. It'll be one of the most important games in the regular season.
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted November 14, 2007 definitely not too early. I have tickets for Jan 5 in Dallas v. Wings already. I keep them out on my desk at home and look at them every day. I have tix to Stars/Ducks on 11/21. I sure hope Dallas remembers how to play hockey by then.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 It's never too early to get pumped for everything, sports-related or not. Looking forward to both football and hockey this weekend. Although I get pumped up for such bland things as watching paint dry, making artificial farting noises in the armpit area, spinning around in circles in my desk chair then running into stuff dizzy, waiting to see the owls go "HOOT" in the evening, and watching the Weather Channel. What can I say, I'm a weird strange person. *shrugs*
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Ill be pumped if the following happens. Sammy dosnt play. Lilja dosnt play. 4th Line becomes Drake,Kopecky,Downey. wingnut40 176 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 You're such a masochist. I hate to sound stupid, but what is that? Ill be pumped if the following happens. Sammy dosnt play. Lilja dosnt play. Why does everyone hate them so much? I think they're awesome! Sammy's got a great slapshot and Lils is a big hitter and he's smoking hot. They better win on Saturday, that's all I have to say. I'm missing my friends 16th birthday for it. I'll take a toaster bath if we lose 3 straight!

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 Seriously. Why is it so hard for this team to beat a team that Columbus is currently having no trouble dominating??
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 (edited) Seriously. Why is it so hard for this team to beat a team that Columbus is currently having no trouble dominating?? Two reasons: Robert Lang and Jason Williams. Williams was ******* terrible when he played here. He was absolutley terrible. He was far and away the worst player on this team. That said, the dumbass thought he was actually playing good, and felt he was being mistreated by Babcock. So, he get's traded, and look at him now. He has all this motivation to prove Detroit wrong because he felt he was screwed by the organization, when really, he was being benched and ulitimately ended up being traded because he was playing bad. Same thing goes for Lang. Lang was actually great in his 1st season here, right when we picked him up from Washington. He was still pretty good the 2nd season. But in the 3rd, he decided to be a lazy s***head, and, like Williams, felt he was getting screwed by guys like Babcock. When, in reality, it wasn't that at all. Lang deserved to be benched because he was playing badly. I don't know what it is with professional atheletes and their inability to process that. It's either their ego's, or just plain stupidity. I don't know, but from my point of view, you shouldn't be rewareded for playing bad. Look at how both of them play when their not playing against Detroit, though. Their both very average hockey players. Lang is over the hill, and Williams shouldn't be in the NHL to begin with. Kane and Toews are the ones doing all the heavy lifting on that team, except on nights when Detroit is involved. Then Lang and Williams all of sudden catch lighting in a bottle and play good. It's really frustrating. Neither of them deserved to play on the Wings anymore. I give Lang full credit for his help in the '04 playoffs against Nashville, but that shouldn't mean I should sit around and ride his coattails for the rest of his playing career. He was slowing down, and it was time for him to go. I don't know why some of us are looked at as bad people because of that. ...and Williams? He never deserved to play on this team to begin with. I can't even begin to express my hatred (and yes, I will use that boldest of words) for Williams. He is a terrible hockey player that doesn't belong in this league. I'm really sick of losing to Chicago. I deleted my last rant above, but this one I'm keeping. The Wings better get their s*** together, because Chicago is not as good as we're making them look. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 I'd love to see a former Blackhawk and line mate of Lang and Williams, score a hatrick against the Hawks on saturday. That'd be nice.
