Woah slow down buddy, this is Detroit were talking about. Remember "Americas most dangerous city" Nothing like that or anything will happen to the kid.

Seems that level of enthusiasm drops off quite a bit during Wings games. ;)

Ok... I'm done with my bashing on us being all boring and stuff. For now... :D

Haha, no, what makes you thing that?

And ouch, I guess this forum is too sensitive for a mild (at best) little joke. Obviously I don't think you should kill your son or even think twice of him being a ducks fan. I doubt people at the Joe would do anything physically harmful to an adult wearing a ducks jersey, let alone a kid. Apologies if I struck a nerve.

Apology accepted. Thanks.

As your son gets older and wiser I'm sure he will convert to a Wings fan.

A buddy of mine is an Avs fan and we went to a game together during the hay days of the rivalry. Made him walk 10 feet in front of me when we were walking around the JLA. Yeah he caught a lot of crap. It was fun for me to watch :)

I think that needs to be answered first.

That's what I was thinking too!

Glad you got some good answers Wingnut. Yeah, JLA is really as wild as a pack of... lambs <_<, which extends to this area of fan tolerance as well. Maybe I need to see a game where the Joe is really rocking though. I hope.

It is always fun to wear an opossing team's jersey to a game. I do it with my AVS and flames jersey at the ponda.

ill f*** em up. im only a year older

:lol::lol:

I'm sorry, i can't help it but i think thats funny. The more I read it, the more funny it gets.

He's 13 for cryeeing out loud, not like a wee little 8 yr old. Its time he learns to make a stand (the Ducks Jersey) and deal with the consequences, not matter they be big or small. As a kid, my older brother was always a Viking fan wearing the purple jersey at the Silver Dome, no real probs, just fun banter back and forth with the Lions faithful.

Yeah, the kid will be fine, but I agree: its you I'm worried about. After you get home from the game, call my phone and let it ring twice so i know you're ok, then hang up before the machine picks up. :)

I'm planning on going to the Wings vs Blackhawks game on January 8th/9th somewhere around then

Anyway its in Chicago and I was planning on wearing my Lids jersey. Are hawks fans assholes?

I wear my McCarty jersey everytime that i go to an opposing team's arena. It is alot of fun in Chicago because there is always lots of wings' fans to balance out the home fans. No one messed with me in Chicago. I was told in Boston that our jerseys looked like tampons.

at one point or another i have worn the opposing team jersey to joe for a game except (sharks and Nashville) as I don't own them...

I actually get a kick out of it... Nothing happens... absolutely NOTHING happens except for some ribbing. When Ozzie is playing though i usually where one of his or my Rivers jersey.

I don't see any reason if he is a Ducks fan why he should not wear the jersey to a game.

I remember one game i had to sit by myself cause i bought a ticket seperately than offsides and her friend (using our season tickets)

It was against the Blue Jackets... I had on my Nash jersey... Loved it when Nash got a hat trick... its fun to stir the pot a bit down there.

Not to mention i can see the wings anytime i want on tv so i usually pick games when i can see my favs plays (obviously i have jerseys of all theirs) so I wear them... it works nicely because they usually will sign them afterwards :D

So i say DO IT nothing is going to happen he is only 13 anyways... although we are murder capital of the country now (HOLLA!) nothing will happen to your son that wouldn't happen even if he was wearing a wings jersey.

now i do have a problem with are the ones wearing OTHER TEAM JERSEYS that aren't actually in the game... and don't have the names on the back of a current player. Thats when i say lame. For instance 'hawks #7 cheli fine to wear in a at a 'canes vs. Wings game... Savard 'hawks jersey not cool to wear at that same game. looks sad.

How about a Wilson Hawks jersey to a Sharks game? Or a Hull Blues jersey to a Stars game?

give your kid a wings jersey for Christmas. You must convert him!!!!

Definately the best way to do it, start with a young star like Zetterberg or Datsyuk, they'll be our next guys in the "Steve and Shanny" roles as team leaders, Rafalski and Lidstrom are good choices too, Rafalski being on a nice long contract and from Michigan and #5 because he is Niklas "mother effin" Lidstrom

Yes those are fine because the said player has once worn the jeseys of at least one of the teams involved.

For instance.. I have a Oilers Weight jersey. If i didn't have any Blues Jerseys i would think it would be alright to wear the Oils jersey to the Savvis center... as I am supporitng a player on their current roster... regardless of whether the oils were playing or not.

What i am talking about is the Blank Dallas Stars Jersey at the JLA in a game featuring the Wings Vs. Blue Jackets... those type of situations. If the player on the back is currently or has played for one of the teams involved in the game I have no problem at all. Wearing Wearing a jersey of a player or team that is not in volved in the current game or never played on either game is where I call lame.

I have a dream to go to all 30+ arenas in my lifetime.. I have jerseys to wear to each of them... so for me i am all set in regards to abiding by my conditions above :D

Hell no not at all! I went with three of my friends all decked out in Wings gear and signs and all that stuff... It was the best time we had at a game!

Now if you run into Ty Pennington like offsides and I did... yeah he can be a bit vocal haha.. but its all fun geering with Ty sitting behind you :D

Only in Toronto have i ever had any physical confrontation with a fan while wearing the opposing teams jersey.. and that was nothing more than the middle school knock your friend into the guy walking by game.

Mostly the Canadians would look and see the Isles Jersey (yeah it was playoffs Game5 at the ACC :D ) and say BOOOOO pretty funny really.

Be proud to support your favorite players or teams... who the heck really cares.

Oh and also if i am at at road game involving the wings I do wear sport my wings gear :D different is fun

He visited his Grandfather in Anaheim and he took him to a game. His favorite player is Scott Neidermayer. Now do I get my answer? At least I'm a WING FANantic!!

Just sit your son down and nicely explain to him that Niedermayer is overrated, and that he bailed on the ducks this season and acted like a complete imbecile. Then tell him that Niedermayer is at best the 2nd best defensemen in the league, and introduce him to Nicklas Lidstrom and all his accomplishments, which are far superior to Niedermayer's.

Oh and common sense wise, the ducks jersey looks like crap compared to a Wings jersey, so it shouldn't be hard to make your son switch over to the good side of the force.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, although I didn't mean to hijack this thread. I went to a Tigers game in Chicago this past August and although I'm not that heavy of a baseball fan it was the most entertaining experience that a sports game has given me, and I've been to playoff home games for the Wings. So I feel its time to head to Chicago to support the ol troops. Theres nothing quite like being an underdog, I must admit, although apparently I may not even be an underdog at Chicago
