Nice to see that kind of passion in a Wings game again. Hopefully this organization finally begins to realize the importance of what Downey brings, and keeps him around.

100% agreed. I want Downey to stay in this line-up. Once Drake gets the cage off, him and Downey will be running wild

Hopefully after this game it will shut up the Dom bashers. I don't remember the last time they had a streak of slop like this. we're lucky with a T.

Oh well, maybe next time.

unlikely, that.

I posted in another thread, the last 14 games of 16 this season are vs. Central opponents. Either we get their number by then or we don't. I say we will. Just glad to have teams in the division who give a little bit of challenge, that's what keeps it interesting.

Heh, it'd be great if both of them stay in the lineup at the same time. Screw Kopecky. His one fight was a fluke. I'd bet money he doesn't do it again.

By the way: nice avatar. :)

Horrible. This team isn't even going to make the playoffs. Zetterberg is worse than Chris Chelios in the shootout, and Osgood couldn't stop a single shot, despite them all being weak. Pathetic. It's time to rebuild.

I really, really hope that you are not being serious.

The fact that some of you on here are bitching about not winning the game is quite laughable. Fact of the matter is the Jackets outplayed the Wings, and our boys didn't decide still got a point. Why? Two words: Chris Osgood. Yet you bash him for the SO goals. My oh my are some of us spoiled or what?

ANYWAYS.

Lilja's save was freaking FANTASTIC and I thought he was great tonight.

Ozzie was freaking amazing and he is the reason the Wings started to turn the game around, and the reason they at least got a point.

Downey is beginning to become one of my faves. Love him!

I thought this was one of Drake's better games as well.

Very exciting, intense game despite the loss.

Ok, After watching some tv, ive calmed down, got my nerves back time for my recap of the game.

Pro's-

Kronwall-Lilja-Chelios Played PHENOMINAL. Kronwall was looking to score and threw some nice hits, Lilja basically was the reason the game got sent to overtime with his superman dive. Chelios played physical and played his typical flaw free defence. Im shocked that im praising Lilja.

When Hudler was on the 2nd line. Things got done. It go's to show that Sammy Flipper and Hudler got there chemistry going, throwing in Franzen was a nice reminder of things could get worse.

Cons-

Rafalski and Lids havent been up to snuff lately.. Lids has a free pass cuz he is a legend, but Rafalski needs to step it up. or else ill send him down to play with Lilja and send Kronner up to play with Lids.

Franzen was the only player who didnt shine at all today. Did nothing good. with his size he shuld atleast have a physical pressence. whether it be monster checking or playing the PF position, He hasnt showm much to me to warrant 2nd line.

Ozzie, Started slow, but i think it should be unanimous by now. Ozzie is better then Hasek. After 1st period Ozzie was as good as a goalie can get.

--

Overall i loved the physical play. expecialy when its team wide. it was like a playoff game today. and i loved it. Henrik and Pavel where grinding tonight that was a shocker, but i loved Henriks and Homers Bash Brothers Hit.

The Wings Need To Work On The Special Teams. PK and PP. both were not up to snuff tonight. on PP we need to capitalize not rush things, take your time to set up something and dont go shot happy. On the PK you need to be a little more hungrier, i realize you gotta play a little conservative but if there is a loose puck and you have a chance to clear it, go for it ffs.

I'm loving playing Columbus. Very exciting games. This is what it's all about people!

No kidding, at least now I'm looking forward to play Columbus again. They're an underrated team really.

Our division in general so far, looks like the best in the west. Scary how things change that fast really. The Wings aren't struggling against these teams for no reason. They really are that much better.

i guess, if you're perspective is that the wings don't need to win in the central, then i definitely don't share your perspective.

My perspective is they're in first place, because despite not beating teams much in their division yet, they're still in first place. That's because, overall, the other teams haven't been able to keep pace.

Is there a special prize for winning games against division opponents? What do they call that trophy? I must have missed it my last visit to the HHOF.

I agree with most of what you said except this ^^^. Ozzie's start may have cost a W in regulation. And our OT: shoot out was even less impressive.

Though most people like to pin every "L" on Hasek, I'm not going to do that with ozzy from this game. He did show streaks of being solid. Yet we failed as a team.

I don't really care who Babcock throws in net... without a full team 65 minute effort, it's hard to win games. I just wish Ozzy would have showed up in the shoot out.

Bottom line, BJ's had better goaltending and were the all around better team tonight.

Sucks to lose... I hate losing. Hopefully nights like this gives us mental strength over diversity for the playoffs.

not bad for a game we shouldnt have been in. Ozzie and Lils gave us a chance. Nice shootout move by Dats. To me it looked like Zatta was trying to do the one handed deke, but realized he didnt get Le-f***face to bite, so kinda fumbled for the best move he could, which obviously looked like s***. Hey, I mean honestly, did you expect to win when Lils plays good?? the only reason why we lost to Anaheim in game 5 was because Lils scored our only goal. Fate has it out for him, thats why he coughed it up for selanne to score.

Not sure how it would. Osgood played spectacularly.

Because the 2nd goal should have been stopped from a blind man and allowing 3 goals in three shots in the shootout wasn't spectacular.

I agree ozzie showed streaks of dominance, but nothing was sustained. I think a lot of people are confusing is we shouldn't have been down 2-0 to begin with.

I've watched dom show streaks of dominance yet nobody is there patting him on a back after a loss. If he allowed 3 goals in 3 shots in a shoot out, people would be calling for blood.

And the 2nd shot near the blue line that ozzy let in... i thought the boards were going to riot.. but I guess since it's ozzie, it's okay.

Either way, I don't care who babs throws in.. I just want the 'team' to play 60 minutes. And we need to capitalize one those 5 on 3s.

I'm not disagreeing, but through a quarter of the season, they've done well enough to be in first place overall in the conference.

they have, i'm certainly not complaining about that. it's just disappointing losing ground like this against central teams especially when the wings aren't giving it all they have.

We werent on Hasek after one bad game. Ozzie had one bad goal otherwise was spectacular. Comparing that to 6 games of sub 70% save percentage from Hasek is ridiculous and due to it your opinions lose all authority and respect from this board.

I know, it's frustrating. I think it's a combination of not attacking these games the way they need to and some bad luck. Chicago has played well against the Wings, but not 4-0 good. The Wings have led in almost every game but the Hawks and other teams in the Central use Detroit as a measuring stick game. The Wings do need to make an adjustment and attack these teams the way they do the traditionally good squads. They haven't done that yet.

Ozzie played good. Even I..his co-biggest fan was down on him at the beginning. I was thinking...ooh..he's not having a good game...not just the goals, he just looked a little off and kind of shaky out there. But you know what he pulled his head back on and played out of his mind. There was this one series of 3 or 4 shots that absolutely blew my mind.

To me...that's more important, in a way. He didn't let those 2 demoralizing goals demoralize him. In fact he played some of his best that he has...and the OT was intense too. Ozzie really kept that game close...we should have been losing by more....not based on shots, just on the chances and such.

The last CBJ game was very exciting too...I'm enjoying watching them play us.
