11/29 GDT: Red Wings 4, Lightning 2

The last GDT was a mess. A gentle reminder is necessary apparently, so here it is:

The game day thread is an excellent place to discuss the game each night. However, due to the remarks made by members, the mods and admin have come to the conclusion that the GDTs have become entirely too cluttered and full of wasteful posts that don't contribute anything. It's not pleasant to try and read or post in a GDT when entire pages are full of posts that say nothing at all. Therefore, we ask that you please refrain from posting for the sake of posting. One and two-word posts, especially, need to stop. Trying to be the first to post when a goal is scored or a power play is awarded brings discussion to a screeching halt. Please limit talk in the GDT to constructive opinions and observations on the game at hand - that's what the GDT is for. Predictions are fine, but we don't need to know if or where you're watching the game, what you're eating or drinking, or anything else not directly related to the game itself. We will return to last year's guideline that if you have 3 or more posts deleted from the GDT, your posting privileges will be suspended.

We encourage all fans from all teams to be a part of our great community. Please be considerate of all LGW members and contribute constructively. Don't forget, we have members all around the world that never get to see the games and count on us to provide them with good play-by-play and insightful discussion.

hoping for no more injuries first and foremost. Second didnt realize the Lightning are on such a bad slide the last 5 games, lets hope they dont try to fix that against us. Hoping for a wings win and a solid night for ozzie.

Aflac...just for the milestones, you should put up that Lids played his 1,200th game....i believe that is the correct number, could have been 1,500 but i think it was 1,200

The Lecavalier line is explosive and I don't think our defense is capable of shutting them down completely in additoin to the rest of the team (especially with how we've been playing lately), yet at the same time, the Lightning's defense is their weakness, so we should be able to roll on all lines for this one.

For those of you going to your first game in awhile I hope you all have a ton of fun. Don't be afraid to get the crowd rowdy, they will if someone leads them! Don't be afraid to do the goalie you suck chant. Classless maybe but it happens to us every where we go, and hell it is fun.

As far as the game goes I am very excited to watch this one. I am encouraged to see how we react to a #1 line that is equal to ours. Lightning nearly got blanked last night so maybe we can shut them down too.

He is, but the Wings are really short up front with Drapes, Ellis, and maybe Maltby out as well.
