With the win against Nashville Ozzie now has 350 wins in 14 seasons of NHL !

Congratulations Oz !!

Just 6 more and he will pass Rogie Vachon for the 15th spot all time.

It's optimistic, but if Ozzie (and the Wings of course) can keep playing like they do now, he could reach Tom Barrasso's 369 and maybe even Andy Moog's 372 and even Beezer's 374.

The other goaltenders who should be in Ozzie's reach in the next few years are:

Mike Vernon - 385

Grant Fuhr - 403

Glenn Hall - 407

Tony Esposito - 423

Jacques Plante - 435

Curtis Joseph - 446

And it would be historical if if Ozzie could surpass our own Terry Sawchuk, 447...

^^ I didn't just read that.

I screamed out 350!! When the buzzer sounded at the end of the game and everyone in my fam was like what the hell does that mean? And so I told 'em bout Ozzie and they then were all "ohhhh atta boy Oz!" lol

CONGRATS TO THE GREAT OZ!!! No doubt in my mind that he'll get 50+ more!

Osgood won 30 games on a horrendous Isles team and also did it on a bad Blues team. Only fifteen other goaltenders have won as many games as Ozzie...Many played for great teams much of ther careers.

Hall of Fame! Hall of Fame! Hall of Fame!

If Ozzie plays three seasons after this one, and wins at the rate he has been since the lockout from now until then, and gets 53% of the decisions as he has so far this season...his stats would look like this after the 2010-11 season:

447 W-215 L-66 T-45 OTL, 52 SO

If he achieves those numbers....he's in the Hall...there's not even a question of it at that point.

Yep yep. I haven't updated the Oz-O-Meter in a few wins but I've been looking forward to this. He's so cool!

We've been blessed as a team to have such a great goaltender for most of his career.

Just for fun, if those teams were so bad, why is it that Ozzie's backups had better winning percentages for those teams? I know, you can't really compare due to the lack of games played, but when the team is still winning when you are not playing, I would at least be thinking about not saying the team was horrendous.

Edit: Congrats Ozzie, if all goes well, he may have a shot at # 400 next year.

How does the phrase go.... Even a _____ can find a ____ every once in a while... Someone fill it in for.

Because his backup played a much higher perctage of games against equal and lesser opponents, while Oz saw the games against the league's best teams.

In 2003-04: Reinhard Divis won four games, none against a team that finished in the top three in their division. Johnson won four games, Nashville being the only top-three division team he beat. Osgood won 31 games, 19 of which were against teams that finished top-three in their division. So the Blues beat top-three division teams 20 of 39 wins....Osgood had 19 of those, but only 12 of the 19 victories over bad teams.

In fact, the only situation Osgood's backup had a better record on either of those two teams was 2001-02...when Garth Snow went 10-7-2 to Ozzie's 32-25-6. The two records are very similar (Osgood's record projects to 21 points and a 10-8-1 record over 19 decisions, Snow's projects to 33-23-7 over 63 decisions), and Osgood faced more shots per game, posted a better save percentage, and a better GAA than Snow.

The fact that Ozzie was named his team's MVP in 2001-02 and 2003-04 also helps.

theres no way he would of continued that pace during his whole career , and i cant remember what the islanders were like when he was on but im pretty sure the blues were not as bad as you claim , the blues has the longest streak of making it into the playoffs , if he stayed his whole career outside of detroit he would be nowhere near the top 15 in wins , im a die hard wings fan and i got nothing against osgood but the fact that hes a wing wont let me be biased , ozzie is not one of the all time great nhl goalies

Congrats Ozzy! Great goaltender for years, never got the credit he deserved. He is playing like a man possessed and I love it. 14-1-1 on the season, best GAA in the league, up there in save %, and last night was unsolvable. I still believe he should have had his 2nd shutout and that goal should have been disallowed for interference, but Ozzy did what he does probably better than anyone, shake off a bad break and get back to work!

GO OZZY!! 350 WINS, just keep rolling! They should update the scout reports on TSN.ca player profiles more often....

Flaws: Is no longer starter material. Still lets in soft goals on occasion. Has always had trouble with long shots.

Career potential: No. 2 goaltender.

By the way:

If you want to see some classic Ozzie humor, check out http://redwings.nhl.tv/team/ and watch "Chris Osgood sits down with Ken Kal to talk about country music and the Nashville Predators"

It's absolutely hilarious !!!

"god Ken, why would you say something like that, now you're gonna jinx me. you can say that on the radio, this tv people are gonna see this. this one is on you tonite Ken"
